I remember an article in SI many years ago that discussed the top college programs at what specific position produced consistent talent. From memory they gave Washington State the QB-U (for Bledsoe and Leaf), LSU had the Tailback spot, and Penn State was Linebackers. I was curious in the year 2010 what Universities you would assign THE college program at putting out consistent talent at various positions:

EDIT: Recent and Current NFL Players to be considered

QB-U
RB-U
WR-U
LB-U
TE-U
ect

Just an offseason conversation for those interested.

LB - Alabama may can get into that discussion if Hightower comes back healthy, and goes 1st round, after Rolando McClain goes 1st round this year. Not to mention all the amazing LBs to come out of Alabama over the years (Jordan, Bennett, Thomas, Ryans).

I'm assuming that you mean by recent/current NFL players.

Miami - RB U: edge, portis, mcgahee, gore

LSU could be WR-U (clayton, henderson, bowe, davis, doucet, and lafell) and will get an add on with toliver and randle

Josh Reed?

OC-U
Todd McClure with 12 years
Kevin Mawae with 17 years.
Rudy Niswanger.
Brett Helms on the Practice Squad for the Texans.
The top three are starters in the NFL.

GA or TN could make a claim for DL U.

USC for QB U.

Miami for RB U.

Ohio State has been DB U lately.

ND would be in the mix for TE U .

Ohio State has some claims at OC as well, with Mangold and Bentley, and soon to be Brewster.
