Its that time of year. I love me some astros. Lets get the talk starting.

My projected order and Starting 5

1.Bourn .291 43rbi's 65sb(all star)
2.Matsui .267 18 sb
3.Lance .295 26 hr 110 rbi's
4.Lee .316 32 hr 125 rbi's(rbi's might be high)
5.Pence .301 30 hr 95 rbi's 20sb
6.Feliz .272 19 hr 65 rbi's
7.Castro(yes I think he will win it..or Pray at least) .285 7 hr 55 rbi's
8.Manzella .245 10 sb

Starting 5

1.Roy 16-12 3.95 era 160k's 200 plus innings
2.Wandy 21-9 2.98 era 201k's(all star) 200 plus innings
3.Myers 13-10 4.05 era 120k's 200 plus innings
4.Norris 15-13 4.08 era 170 k's 185 innings
5.Paulino(yea my sleeper to make the 5) 10-10 4.95 era 150k's 170 innings

8th-Lyon 3.05era
closer-Lindstrom 3.95 era 25-32 saves

I am a homer but I belive the starting pitching will be above average. Hitting will not be great but I think the D will be way above average minus Fat LEE.

You are definitely an optimist, especially with those offensive projections.

I just hope we can get some good young talent when we trade Lance and Roy after the break. The farm system is horrid and it needs to be improved before they become perennial bottom dwellers.

I'm with my Stros win or loose and until Uncle Drayton sells the team it will be mostly loose

I've been wanting this to happen. But as long as Drayton is the owner, they will remain Astros. He doesn't give away his pet franchise stars - or former stars. Case in point: Biggio and Bagwell.

But w/ those numbers you're predicting for Wandy, are you basing that on the assumption that he only starts home games?

Uncle Drayton is not stupid. He knows if he trades away these two to make the team better in the future, he won't make as much money in the present. He knows these guys make him money. They put asses in the seats and help sell Astros apparel. Trade these guys away and his income stream is decreased. All he is about is the $$$$. Case in point, only team in MLB that still does not allow fans to bring in food and drink into the stadium.

Lance has a no trade clause and said he would go else where if it was best for astros. Roy I think would go. Lee has said many times he is going to play his last game as an astro so he is not going anywhere.

And this is only cemented by the fact that he will likely sell the team in the near future. So there's no future money to be made by him from 20 year old prospects.

I'm going with Lee traded around the all-star break, Berkman misses the last 1-2 months of the season and Matsui misses 70 games. Pence will be good, Feliz will be bad and Bourn will be our lone all-star.

FWIW I think Moehler will star the year as the 4th or 5th starter and Lyon will be the closer if he is healthy enough come opening day.

I wish. Problem is nobody wants a fat arse defensive liability who's in decline and has an enormous contract with three years left.

See my sig.

When you have Humberto Quintero and JR fricking Towles battling it out for your starting catcher spot, you have fricking problems.

They won't bring in Castro. He was in Single A ball last year (if I'm not mistaken.) Obviously, he's not ready.

Quintero and Towles are bullpen catchers. Nothing less, nothing more.

...and I hope Matsui gets traded to the Chunichi Dragons. We may be able to get positive production over Matsui in return.

Yea sorry you were mistaken. Castro started the year in HIGH A ball and played about 30 games there before being moved to AA and playing most the season there. JR Towles and Q and not fighting for the starting job. They have said many times that Q will be the back up and JR and Castro will battle for starting job with the loser going to AAA. Please don't post things as facts if they are not close to being facts.
