I don't think LSU fans "hate" Lee. Fans "hate" his performance in 08. Fans "hate" the interceptions he threw.
But, really, I don't think the fans, even on this board, personally "hate" the guy.
He's got a great future ahead of him, either as a player or a coach. Even if he never starts again at LSU, he may get picked up in the pros as a backup. He'll certainly get a chance to walk-on. Most players out of college don't even get invited to try and make an NFL team. Lee probably would.
I respect his work ethic. Bustin' his arse on the practice field every day. Taking crap from fans and holding his head up high. Guy must be tough as nails or crazy as a loon, both of which make fine qualities for coaching.
But "hate" the guy, never.

When fans are calling him a wasted scholarship, threatening him on his facebook, and other stuff I would say they hate him due to his performance.

Finally someone gets my point. I probably went about it the wrong way though. People seem to forget that when Lee got hurt, a clear cheer could be heard in the stadium. Also, he got booed in the La Tech game. I stand by my statement that the majority of people hate him, based on football. I hate Les Miles, based on football. I'm sure they are both fine, upstanding people on a personal level. This is football, not life.

If any person "hates" a college kid for playing in a football game, then they need to talk to a psychologist because they have a real problem within themselves.

The funny thing is Lee is still helping the team. Even though he is not seeing the field much on Saturday's he is pushing Jefferson in practice. He is in the film room, work out room, and no telling what else.
I think many believe player's can not contribute to the team unless they are on the field Saturday's. While he may have the tools to succeed so far on the field he has not been able to do so. However he apparently is still a great teammate and is still wanting to start which every athlete needs, that competitive fire.
Whether his major is General Studies or Engineering I would still want a degree that has "Louisiana State University" rather than "McNeese State University".

Geezzzzzzzzzzz, will you wake up and smell the coffee.
Cause people express displeasure with a teams performance, it doesn't follow that they "hate" anyone.

the people that threaten a lsu player on facebook, because of perfomance on the field, should be ashamed. lee was ruined by the coaches in my opinion.

And just how does anyone know that it is a real LSU fan threatening Lee on facebook? And what's "the other stuff"?

Well when their school is LSU and they are saying that he should transfer and it was a mistake for him to come here. That they blame him for every loss and issue regarding the football team last year. When fans heckled him when he went out and would walk up to him and call him "Pick 6" there is a bit of an issue there.

Personally, I think he would have been a hell of a lot more successful at Northwestern. I am sure that he would have helped them win more games than they did this last season.
