I feel the right coaching would have helped JL doe very well. Instead we got Crowton, so I doubt we see much progression out of either.

Here is the answer of why JL won't get much playing time. The coaches ruined him in their and the eyes of the fans. I congratulate him for continuing to work hard, but I just don't see him getting another legitimate chance at being a starter at LSU.

Me either. That's the point of my OP. It's EASY to run away in situations like this. People get MANY opportunities in life to quit. Hell, you can bet that Lee knows he could make his life easier by running.

But he ain't doing that. EXCELLENT trait in a man.

I was using a general statement. I later clarified in another post to "the majority" and then late on to "some" fans. Keep up. If I hate someone or something, I will put "I hate _______". Just like now "I hate ForeLSU". Got it. You added nothing of real substance to this thread except to attack me and my posts.

Goddamnit. I start a thread about the positive CHARACTER displayed by Lee and your first response calls him a fool. Then you spend the rest of this thread jacking it to defend the minutiae within your post. Your initial response wasnthat o an immature arse and was unnecessary. It is NOT foolish to have the character to not quit when the going gets tough. Honestly, based upon your initial response, it appears this is a trait you may not possess.

it ain't like he couldn't go for free elsewhere. He WOULD be offerred if he chose to transfer.

Calm down Francis. It was just a statement that a lot of people would say. I really should have put a "?" at the end. Do some of you only read one post in the thread and not the others? I also stated that he should do what makes him happy. Whether that is to practice and go to LSU, or try to go somewhere else for significant playing time. I think that he was never given a good chance at being successful and he will probably never play any meaningful snaps the rest of his time here.

Or he is foolish to stay at a place where the fans hate him and he will get no playing time.

Wow ... surprise, surprise. The first response to what everyone should agree to be a very positive post is a negative swipe at J.Lee. The immaturity of "fans" on this site is sickening.

Any other "fans" want to show their arse in this post?

For you to equate a preference of most fans desire to see JJ at QB to hatred of J Lee is stupid. You deserved being called a dumbass. Hope my contribution cleared things up for you.

Lee is not afraid to throw the ball. I think if we had the 2009 defense with the 2008 offense, both years would have turned out much better.

JJ is either afraid to make a mistake or does not have a grasp of the offense (ie this receiver will be here at this point and so on). Something is not clicking. Until this changes, teams will stuff LSU's run and force JJ into action. This is not entirely an offensive line issue. This year, the QB is unable to make significant and consistent yardage. Defense's figure this, stuff the run with run blitz and BAM, offensive line looks bad due to a 6 on 5 match-up.

Get some type of reliable passing game going and the running lanes WILL open up. Stop putting your offensive line in difficult situations, both on running and passing downs. THAT is the key. With any type of spread offense, the QB needs enough snaps to gather momentum and confidence.

I don't know if JJ can do this. It was not his type of offense to run in high school. Lee did run a passing spread in Texas high school and quite well. This year's performance I give JJ a "C+", just slightly above average. LSU won 9 games and were close in the others so that counts for plenty. I HOPE the coaches take a serious look at the playbook, offensive scheme and the four QBs they have (that includes Sheppard). Give each young man the opportunity to take charge, make a decision and go with it.

Do you not remember the cheering when he got injured or the booing him against La Tech? I was at both of those games. I defended him the whole season he started. Some of you are just retarded.

I thought I read an article that stated Sheppard asked to be switched to WR permanently. I could be wrong though.

Actually, I did read the whole thread. You showed your arse and got called out for it, and then proceeded to back pedal in an attempt to cover your exposed arse.

let's review...

you said Lee is foolish to stay because the fans hate him...

I replied with the thought that maybe he doesn't care what the fans think and wants to get his degree from LSU...

you responded by saying that is a stupid concept since he is 'undecided' on a major...

as far as adding value to the thread goes, you're at about a negative 100

Really cause LSU fans to hold the young man in high regard. He may well never be a quality QB at LSU but in my view, we have learned A LOT about his character in the last two years.

It would be so easy to bail and heck, it might even be the wise choice. But the young man is going to gut it out even though he knows that should he have to take the field, the pressure will be immense and fans will expect him to fail.

Most 40 year olds I know do not possess such intestinal fortitude.
