Ncaa recruiting problems

On the cut players option why would you have to cut down to 70 players when the ncaa rule says you can have 85 on roster.

Because it is a game not real life...
Extra 15 players on each roster would probably take a lot more time in development and Space on the disc

When you recruit sometimes you have 90 players on your team until the cut date so the players already exist on the game how is this your logic.

You know what that's an awesome fricking point.

The response to this from EA programmers was all about saving space. If you save 85 people to your roster, you would then have to save full stats for 85 players. Yes there are more than 70 prior to the cut, but there aren't stats associated with all of them except for the player attributes.

I'd rather 85 on my team than better graphics, fwiw.

Same.
I literally had to cut a guy his senior year who, as a junior, was a Thorpe award finalist, because he got passed in rating by a younger guy the next year (I believe he was rated something like 94, and the guy who passed him was 96. The previous year, he was something like 92 and the other guy was 90 or 91, and he didn't improve that much in the offseason, the other guy did). And obviously, I would have loved to have had him as a backup/nickel back/special teams guy, but there's just no way I can keep any senior who's a backup (or a junior who's backing up a sophomore or frosh), with only 70 scholarships, instead of 85.
But just imagine something like that happening in real life.

I could not disagree more.
Hell, backups hardly even see the field on this game compared to real life, so what's the point of having even more backups that'll never see the field.
I get the realism aspect, but I'll take graphics any day over that, and gameplan any day over both of those.
