No, he has a kid to support. He received a 1st round grade. He's not passing up that money. His baby's mama needs it.

As long as he doesn't hire an agent or do anything that would, in the NCAA's eyes, make him a professional athlete then he can change his mind and come back. There is a cut off date for that decision to be made. Sometime in March I believe.

I'm still quite surprised he is projected first round. What position? I guess if they polish him a bit he could be good at maybe 2 pitches... but I don't see how he can truly contribute as a MLB pitcher...

Who said this? I have a very hard time buying that right now, with all of the players coming in this year's draft. I don't think the second round is a guarantee either.

With a new NFL CBA coming along after next year, this might be the last draft where players sign mega-contracts. One of the features of the new CBA will likely be a fixed pay scale for rookies. So in that context, if I'm Chad, I'm coming out this year even if I get a 2nd round grade.

Mike Detillier said it about an hour ago on wwl. Said he's behind Berry and maybe Mays, but that's it. Projected him around 20th overall.

If he gets a 1st round grade then he should go. Next year is going to be messy for LSU. He should take the opportunity if its there.
