Began the series about 3 or 4 years ago, never finished it. Started from the beginning last night. Awesome series with great performances by some C list actors in it. (David Scwimmer, the guy from office space, the Wahlberg brother, etc.)
Kudos to Tom Hanks and Spielberg on their job with this series. I also like interviews with actual members of the Airborne unit at the beginning of each episode. Hard to watch veterans break down over some of the memories.

Probably my favorite mini-series ever. HBO is showing them right now on Sunday nights. They showed the second one last night. I'm wondering if they are going to show these every Sunday until....

Can't wait. Just checked. March 2010!

HUGE fan. Glad this continues to earn new fans because it definitely deserves it.

So pumped for the Pacific one, anticipating March greatly. I'm interested to see how the actors are this time around because I think they are more obscure than they were last time. The ensemble performance helped the show greatly but I'm not sure if we'll get the same thing this time around.

I think the Pacific will focus on fewer guys than BOB did.

Couldnt agree more. This shite is addicting. I just finished it from DVR when it was a marathon the other day. It's bad when the other day I was outside freezing my arse off doing something and I said "Now I know what it was like in Bastone".

Just figured out that the LT from West Point is Colin Hanks, Tom Hank's son.

Just finished part 4 of 10 on BluRay. By far the best thing I have every seen from TV. I cannot wait to finish it.

Interesting point: (SPOILER....MAYBE)

They said at the end of one of the episodes that Pvt. Albert Blithe (who suffered from hysterical blindness during the episode that featured him) died shortly after the war from wounds received when he was shot while leading a patrol near a farmhouse. He did not die so soon:

Wiki

Before his military career ended in 1967, Albert Blithe had achieved the rank of Master Sergeant and had fought in the Korean War with the 82nd Airborne Division, completed over 600 parachute jumps
