I have a feeling that if the Longhorn fans are like the very verbal members of the Rant, then they would be calling for Mack Brown to be fired.

"How dare Mack not be able to predict his stud quarterback being lost for the game on the first series and not have a suitable back up. Shame Mack. You should be fired."

Or calling a timeout with 15 seconds in your own territory and putting the ball in your QB hands instead of just handing off to a RB

Dude, not true. Texas was about to win that game. They had all the momentum and it was obvious that Bama knew they were in trouble.

Colt said he could see everything they were doing before they did it.

UT coach is completely competent. LSU fans would never have a problem with a smart competent coach. Ours is an embarrassing laughing stock who makes zero game-day adjustments and is completely out of his league. Anyone would have won with our team in '07. Les has been completely incompetent from day 1.

To compare him to Mack Brown is an insult to Mac.

They're already giving their OC the heat for calling that shovel pass before the half.

kid looked pretty suitable to me. doesn't matter who was the QB on that last drive they would have got hit from the blind side and fumbled to.

there's critisism, but not that bad. mostly there is crowing about how great they are and they are the best team in the country and if mccoy hadn't gotten hurt, they would have killed bama. you know, loser talk.

The Bama football team won, but the Alabama fans lost. Why? Because once again after the BCS championship game was over, they crowed, "We beat the hell out of you!" The Bama fans seem to have made a tradition of showing what a sorry, trashy lot they are with no inkling of sportsmanship.
Another thing: I don't know of a single instance where the Texas fans booed their players, but LSU fans have booed thier team and players over the years. Especially notable is their booing of Jarret Lee.
Tiger Fans, please don't descend to the depths of the Bama fans, and maintain at least a little class.

Sort of scratched my head over that one as well.

that is one thing that came to mind watching that game. the amount of criticism Miles took for having nothing better than a freshman behind RP but other coaches get a pass. brown, stoops, carroll, even kelly.

but Miles is the fool. not saying he does not deserve to be criticised but there are things that some posters just jump at without thinking.

Longhorn fans do have a legitimate gripe about Greg Davis having McCoy run an option play that gets him knocked out of the game. Too much risk versus benefit. That was a very Crowtonesque call IYAM.

that is their game though. last game of season, national championship on the line is not the time to change up your game and try to not get hurt.

He was in the game for all of like 5 plays...Give me a break.

Agreed that Les is a moron and could frick up a wet dream, but Mac also has his shares of idiocy but does not get raked over the coals like Lester. His clock management at the end of the Nebraska game was on par with Miles at the Ole Miss game IMO...and his decision at the the first half of last night's game was frickING RETARDED.

devil's advocate: what would we be saying about the brilliant saban's decisions for the first couple of possessions if bama had lost?

i know it's somewhat moot because they won, but it's a legitimate question.

Oh really, can you give specific examples where Miles has made crucial half-time adjustments to win a game and what those adjustments were?

if colt was in the game it would have been different no doubt but what showed last night was that shipley makes the texas offense goes and texas fans fail to see that over here. bama just sat on the ball on game trying to play the clock and field position. they only threw it 11 times the whole game.

+1. I haven't been to a game that included Alabama for a long time. But I was at last night's game and was stunned at their classless example of fan support. Disgraceful. Some co-workers that were at the game with me (all PAC-10 guys) concurred.

++1. And at last night's game dispite many poor executions and mistakes by Gilbert it remains true.
