We love you Coach Miles!!!! :geauxtigers: :geauxtigers: :geauxtigers:

And now a word from our nega-tigers: "This is his tenth year and he's only one one national championship and two SEC championships -- FIRE HIM! Look what Urban did in Florida and Saban has done for Bama. It is embarassing how bad LSU has been during this time.
I was an LSU student and band member from '91 - '95. My favorite LSU related even has to be November 6, 1993 in Tuscaloosa when LSU ended Bama's 31 game unbeaten streak beating BAMA 17 - 13.

I can't believe we are still to this day have the Saban vs. Miles discussion.

Anyone who has ever tried to build any kind of successful program (not just athletic) knows how hard a job it is. But what some people don't realize it that MAINTAINING a scuccessful program is dificult too. You have to fight the battle of complaincy when members of your program start to take some things from granted.

Miles has not been perfect at LSU, but guess what -- NEITHER WAS SABAN. I definitely feel that SABAN had more loses against teams that LSU should have definitely beaten. And yes, Miles biggest loss was that BAMA NC loss, but at leaset that wasn't a loss like the Saban loss to UAB.
Two huge blunders happened on that punt, OBJ muffs the punt AND Magee does not cover the fumble which he DEFINITELY should have done.
I was there for that game too. Sitting on the front row of the students section. After the game was over a Kentucky player came over to that section and was taunting us. I had to literally pull my friend back from jumping over the rail to go and hurt that guy.

I still cringe when I think about that day.
Here is another reason to pull for Bama to lose that you left off.............THEY ARE BAMA!!! nuff said.

Mett has one weakness unfortunately which is being exploited by the poor offensive line play - he is not a good scrambler.

If the offensive line blocks better and opens up the running lanes and the receivers catch the ball, this weakness is neutralized.

Unfortunately, opposing defenses know all this and they are determined to put LSU in 2nd and long and 3rd and long and bring all kinds of pressure to force Mett to move around.

I like Mett and I think he has way more skills than a quarterback LSU has had in a long time. I just wish it wasn't so easy for opposing defenses to exploit his lack of scrambling ability.

you young F*****S don't remember the curly days. it kills me

Totally Agree!!!

I was a student at LSU in the band from 91-95 so I had to live through the entire Curley era.

The rantards who think Les has to win the national championship next year or he is gone are so ignorant and stupid it just kills me.

Should Miles have played Lee?

Based on Lee's past experience, here are what I see as the possible outcomes everytime Lee would have taken the snap for a passing play:

1. Sack
2. Fumble
3. Interception
4. Pick 6
5. Completion
6. Incompletion

So just from a numbers stand point, Lee would be successful 1 out of 6 times he drops back to pass.

Bur realistically, I think it is more accurate to say that Lee would have been successful 0 out of 6 times he dropped back to pass.

I am not a Lee hater, he played great this year, but those games were against opponents who could not have even competed against Bama.

If Lee would have played, I am totally confident that the score would have been a lot worse than 21 - 0. Probabaly like 35 - 0 or 42 - 0 with at least one pick 6 and at least another TD set up by a fumble to give Bama a short field.

The game is over everyone. Did it hurt? YES!!! But 2011 is done and we need to move on to 2012.

It's ok to be a poor leader

So by your standard any coach who wins 13 games in a row and loses the last game of the season to a clearly better team is a poor leader?

Let me guess, you thought Les was a poor leader when the Tigers were kicking everyone's but for 13 straight games?

Was he a poor leader when he sent Oregon back home with their tails between their legs?

Was he a poor leader when the Tigers went to Morgantown and beat the Montaineers in their home?

How about this . . . . .was he a poor leader when he kicked Ryan Perilloux off the team knowing full well about the lack of experience he had to deal with once Perilloux was gone?

If this is your idea of a "poor leader", i am so glad I disagree with you.

Coach Miles -- I was not happy about monday nights game, but I know you are the reason why LSU has performed so well. Thank you.

tenacious ---- you are making one crucial mistake. You are being logical and rational. I would say about 99% of the complainers on this board are delusional and think they know enough to be a head football coach at LSU and therefore can second guess every decision Coach Miles makes.

The bottom line is that LSU lost and there isn't anything changing players could have done (except make the score worse). We saw how Lee reacted to Bama's defense in November and that Bama defense monday night was much more dominating. There would have been very little chance of any accurate down field passing happening because the Bama pass rush would have been all over our QBs.

I thought it was a heads up play

Why was it a heads up play? If it would have been completed, Ware would have been tackled almost instantly by the Bama defender. JJ has no field vision. If he would have seen that Bama defender, he would have realized the better decision was to keep the ball, use the block of Ware and run to the open space.

Completed pass in that situation get 0 yards after the catch and a keeper by JJ goes for a huge gain IMO

'91 - '95 23-32-1

'91 5-6
'92 2-9
'93 5-6
'94 4-7
'95 7-4-1

In 1995, LSU was actually in the top 25 for 3 weeks. We played in the Independence Bowl and beat Michigan State (coached by Nick Saban)

That '92 season was very miserable.

This is why I don't complain about playing in day games. I spent 5 years as a student watching the Tigers get emabarassed on most nights when they played.

Does anybody think this was the best, or even one of the best available?

Sometimes you need the "right" person for a job and not necessarily the "best" person available.

I trust Les.

and if "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, then everyday would be Christmas.

Lets quit all this crap and get focused on the here and now and the job at hand kicking West Virginia's butt all the way back to the mountains.

You have been on this board long enough that you should know that there are some here who will ALWAYS find something to complain about.

The game wasn't great like I had hoped, but the tigers did finish it this time. Way to go Tigers!!!!
