NO excuses TCU was outcoached by the Boise DC.

I truly believe that BSU has entered many games this season with little D planning and the attitude that the opponent would need to try to outscore them. They game planned this game totally different and prepared to stop TCU's 5th ranked offense. This was evident by the position changes and new and different defensive looks that they brought out in the game. TCU and Andy Dalton the QB failed to adjust. This not only resulted in too few points on the board but in the defensive TD by BSU making the game 17-10. The TCU running game was shut down by shifted blockig assignments that left the O line of TCU, although larger and stronger, simply inadequate.

KUDOS BSU

Key problems certainly included the lack of communication from the press box in the 1s qtr resutling in the TCU OC having to be on the field throughout the first half without a birds eye view of the new defenses he was facing. It is unclear due to shitty FOX coverage if BSU was also limited by their technology in the first half as they should have been.

Also, the TCU Offense was playing with obvious nervousness on the big stage for the first time in >50 yrs. Our RB even puked as he came off the field in the first series.

Others have complained of officiating being onesided but I think it was poor/marginal officiating period:

Holding was not really called on EITHER team

The DPI call that was clearly OPI was HORRIBLE and resulted in major field position advantage.

The call of DPI against Boise late in the game was BS

The lack of call for DPI on BSU when the reciever was hit before ball arrives twice was bad.

The punt return with 31 sec left in the first by BSU was called a fair catch, but it bounced and the play was whistled dead prior to the runner being touched or going out of bounds but no flag.

BSU repeatedly ripped at facemasks and several of the calls were missed. One on Dalton just after he released the ball was even commneted on by the "announcers" with the ref 4 yrds away looking right at him but no flag. TCU right tackle held on this play like a mofo to though.

BSU was blocking in the back on nearly every k/o or punt and the first one they got called on was the third guy on that play with a block in the back.

a PF on TCU #92 was not called after he shoved a BSU coach who was trying to pick up a TCU player on the BSU sideline after a tackle.

TCU's failure to peform offensively was our undoing in this game. We were one interception away from a tied score, and one dropped pass away from the win.

this is right on they gave BSU the game

I think TCU came out believing their own headlines and got a little surprised by the toughness of Boise State, especially their defense.

I mean, like I said yesterday, Boise State beat the PAC 10 champs this year. And they didn't beat them in a shootout, they beat them 19-8. They beat Oregon with defense.

TCU should have been ready, and they just weren't. They got hit in the mouth, and it took them too long to recover.

I agree they had a shot to win the game. But by that point, the idea that TCU was heads and shoulders above Boise State, and the idea that TCU deserves to be in the NCG ahead of Texas, was dead.

The frogs will be back next year with an even more impressive SOS and a chip on their shoulders.

This is ultimately true. However, TCU was ready for the BSU defenses that had been presented over the last 2 years. What was on the field last pm was a re-organized, re-positioned, re schemed defense which was pure genius from BSU. Other major schools rarely do this for a big game they come out and play "their type of fooball" and win. Boise was simply better coached for this game.
