Has Loomis finally proven that he's one of the best in the business?

Or is the jury still out?

Back in 2000, I wanted the Saints to obtain Bill Polian by any means necessary. We got Loomis in 2002, and, he seems to be doing very well for us.

The Saints need and deserve a GREAT General Manager.

I hope that Mickey Loomis can help keep the Saints on top.

Well I couldn't have complained at all with Polian, obviously. Loomis has done well though...Drew, Colston, Greer, Sharper, Vilma, Shockey, Evans, Nicks...He got all of those guys, and that's only a small percentage. I'd say he's one of the better ones.

One of the best in the business? No.

I'd say average to good.

See, this is what concerns me.

I've never been completely sold on the idea that Mickey Loomis is a great GM.

Mickey, I think, has become a very good GM.

Obviously, he's very, very good on the contract/salary cap side of things. However:

His best quality: He listens. He listens to scouts and his coach. He develops a plan for the team with his head coach and gives the HC the pieces he needs.

I think Loomis has done A LOT better than I expected him to do.

There are alot of first that have occured under loomis.

What are the negatives compared to past GM's you point to?

No, Bobby insinuated this same thing on WWL in the preseason and Loomis sounded like he wanted to karate chop his throat.

Loomis said all personnel decisions go through him

Loomis is good...I honestly don't see what some people are complaining about. He's put together the best offense in the nfl the last few years and has put together two of the best teams we've ever had.

Saints GMs? Jim Fink and Mickey Loomis are the best we've ever had.

As for Loomis, I guess I'd be more confident if I were convinced that he's great at personnel evaluation and other issues that fall under "football operations."

What's great about Loomis in your opinion?

Loomis has negotiated every contract on the roster. What else do people need?

Is 14-2, 13-3 and a #1 seed not good enough?

Well...as any on here will tell you I'm not going to link facts that I already know. Hell...I don't even know how to. But the first coach to win 2 divisions the first saints team to win 13 in a row the first saints team to clinch home field. There's more 1st under loomis and SP than anyone in Saints history. Look it up. I'm tired of stating the obvious.
