My cow pasture is in better shape!

1976 Tallulah cow pasture stadium (literally)
1A LISA state championship Sam Barthe 14 Tallulah 7 never seen so many missed 25-30 yard field goals due to poor playing conditions for a friggin state championship game
FF 10 years to Tulane Stadium
Jesuit must have pulled up more carpet in that POS than our good Hispanic friends from Houston pulling up carpet in homes after Katrina

Did you see the huge piece of field come up when the Miami receiver planted to come back to the ball thrown behind him?

Field just cost Miami a shot at winning. WR just kicked up a huge chunk of sod as it failed to hold his footing when he cut for the ball on 4th down.

Ok folks , Chill out . Knee injuries occur on all field conditions...good and bad . You guys seem to be suggesting that a fast LSU team will slow down.. while a slow Penn State team will not..thus losing our alleged speed advantage ?
WTF
WTF

Remember a few seasons ago when there was a similar situation with back to back games on the Pittsburgh Steelers' field? The sod was fresh but got soaked by rain and was just a mess (like this) during the game. With another game (I forget who) on the same field just a few days later, their solution was to re-sod on top of the old! It was awful. I hope the folks in Orlando don't attempt anything like that.

Well - I guess we picked a bad year to go and upgrade TS's turf. Just kiddin'.

Any chance they move the game? Annything else available?
Is this really a serious question?

Cryami is lucky they even had a chance at the end. They were dominated by the badgers on both sides of the line and Wiscy was much faster. Watching the game you would think the score was...
Wisconsin 37
Miami 3

Just mowing weeds would give a better field than what's out there now. How much rain has Orlando been getting? Is that why they have had to re-sod it?
I heard that the field needed new sod because of a host of recent high school games.

I was at the second of 4 of those state championship games. The field was in awful shape at the start of that 2nd game.
Either a new field or a huge repair job was needed.

The game hasn't been played yet and it sounds like many of you are looking for excuses already. Not feeling confident are we?

I agree with this. That field is horrible and any speed advantage we were going to have will be negated by that field.

Man I hope they make Penn State play on the same field that we have to.

The best non BCS bowl game is played in a shitty stadium with a shitty field. Just Awesome.

Although a terrible field sucks to play on for both teams, I dont think it makes them more prone to career ending injuries.
I would think that the lack of stable footing wouild allow the 'give' needed to not have ligaments tear prior to field tearing.
Now the unstable footing may lead to a few more tweaks and milder type sprains.
I make the comparison from the old astroturf stuff that had zero give versus newer field turf that has some forgiveness.

This field is unacceptable. I'm seriously concerned for the health of ALL players playing on that crap. Penn St. and LSU players alike.
College football should be embarrassed by that travesty of a field. I would rather see them play at a high school stadium that has safer conditions. Terrible.
