BP also said Crownton was gone but now that appears not to be so. I'll reserve my comments about a new DC once Chavis does or does not stay.

Look, Belowpar is a great source, and I'm glad that he posts what he's hearing on here, but to suggest that he broke the Chavis news before anyone had an idea we were considering him is laughable. First, when a coach leaves LSU, there is no match for the collective imagination of the Rant as to who the replacement should be. Trust me, Chavis was mentioned on the Rant. Second, as I recall Belowpar was initially of the opinion that Orgeron was more of a done deal than Chavis, and he was almost correct on that.
