With Hatcher and Loston developing what would the possibility be of Jones being moved to LB.
If you were lb coach would you move him?

I'd rather move Hatcher to LB.

When you think about it we were in a 4-2-5 most of this year. We just asked a LB, who is really a safety, to cover a lot of slot guys and RBs.

Base set I would like to see...
OLB: Baker
MLB: Sheppard
OLB: Francois
CB: Eugene
SS: Loston
FS: Jones
CB: Peterson

Dime...
MLB: Sheppard
CB: Eugene
NB: Claiborne
SS: Loston
FS: Jones
DB: Brooks
CB: Peterson

good point thunderbird.

we went to that package quite a bit and if we continue with having that as an aspect of what we do then I'm fine with it. I just don't want to make a wholesale change and be married to the 4-2-5. the 4-3 is more flexible and is more easily adjusted vs. shifts and motions.

I was thinking at least for 4-3 looks he'd be a good OLB. I still like the idea of letting him sit back in DIME and lay the wood on somebody on deep passes, buthe's not GREAT in coverage. I think his frame an experience would be better than Hatcher at LB

And as for the OP I don't think a move of Jones to LB would be good. He has no problems making plays and tackles from safety where as Coleman stuggled at times in the tackling department. We put him in less space at LB and helped him out a lot. Keep Jones at S and move one out of Hatcher or Francois to LB. We need another OLB to step up and I think either of those guys might be our best bet there. The problem you run into with starting Jones at OLB is we need another safety and I don't like Taylor/Hatcher/Francois starting alongside Loston as much as I like Jones starting alongside Loston and Francois or Hatcher at LB.

We already have a depth problem at DT so why would we go to 4-2-5 and have two of them in the game. Our team fits the 3-4 scheme way better with players body types.

I agree with this. He also takes some pretty bad angles at times, which resulted in some huge plays. I would like to see what he could do from the LB spot. He is so big for a FS.
