This quote by Miles is odd. What's your take on it? I can't see where he'd be talking about anything other than losses (crisises.) Three to four a year? Seriously? Does he expect to have three to four losses a year? The quote is in regards to the Ole Miss game.

Here's from NOLA.com:

That record stands in contrast to a November loss at Ole Miss, which Miles reiterated was a humbling Saturday but hardly the measure of a program seeking double digit wins for the fourth time in five years.

"It's certainly something that I didn't enjoy, but I think our football team and our program understands disappointment and the ability to play above that, to respond, " Miles said. "You have about three crisises, four crisises a year. But in any event a team has to play beyond what would be accepted and predicted feelings, and we've done that well here. I would expect this bowl game would be another time in which this team will play extremely well."

He's talking about 3 or 4 moments during the season that can be considered crisises. How did you get 3 to 4 losses a year out of that? They've got some dense people on this board.

You should go to the WBRZ website and look up his interview from the 10 o'clock news last night. I was sitting in my hotel room shocked that a man making $4 million a year was even uttering that shite. He went on about the holidays, kissing and hugging with the family and then the first thing he'll do when they meet up again is start headbutting each other before they leave for Orlando. Not an exact quote as I could never be as colorful as Les.

I'd say that your premise is incorrect.

You are misinterpreting what he's saying. That's why you are so confused.

He's discussing an event that led to a loss, not the loss itself. I agree with him that every program goes through 3 or 4.

I'm fully aware of the what could be considered a crisis and, as you very well mentioned, as loss is a crisis. Thank you for pointing out the reason I started the thread.
