Why can't LSU hire an african american head coach.

The Turner Gill hire at Kansas got me thinking. Gill,Kevin Sumlin,Charlie Strong would be great at LSU. The facts are that probally 80 percent of blue chip recruits are african american, they would come in groves all across the country to play here. And no, these are not token hires, all of the above are either great offensive or defensive minds. All of these men have a lot higher football IQ than Miles. I think we would , i know we would be a lot better coached team, plus recruiting would be off the roof. Kevin Sumlin as the LSU head coach would be downright scary if you was an alabama or florida fan.

why would LSU or any school hire any coach based on what color they are?

The main reason LSU Can't hire a coach, of any color, is that we have a damm strong coach of our own who won a national title two fricken years ago!! When or IF Les gets tired of the NegaTigers and goes somewhere he's appreciated I have no problem hiring the most QUALIFIED candidate reagrdles of their skin color. Realize that there are Ratards who support inferior quarterbacks simply because of the color of their skin so I don't think these people will be supportive of a black head coach.

I hate this argument--I'm all for the best qualified guy to get the job, but lets not push someone because of race.

Its sad really, how some people see the world. I don't look at Turner Gill and Les Miles as black, white, or w/e color anyone wants to be. I look at it from a standpoint of coaching. Les isn't that great, I know that, but Turner Gill had one... ONE good year, and I understand its Buffalo, but this still reminds me of everyone freaking out about Charlie Weis at Notre Dame.

I really don't get the point of this thread. LSU isn't hiring, and there really isn't any black coach candidates that are setting the world on fire right now.
