Probably not .. But I may ... Just looking for some xmas gifts and I hate crowds so I do not go to malls (esp. around xmas).

Do you live near any wine shops?
It seems to me that if you have a good wine shop, the whole shopping on the internet thing is kind of pointless unless you are looking for specific brands that are hard to find.

I just remember thinking the pricing was not really any better and I liked getting the suggestions from the owner of the wine shops.

check out world market. they have sales and coupons in the paper. its not actually the mall. or go to one of the wine stores here in town. this late in the season, you are going to pay an arm and a leg for shipping to get a bunch of wine bottles in by christmas.

also, sam's has pretty cheap bottles, but their selection is all over the place.

Will a place like Marcello's or any local shop cut you a deal if you buy several cases?

I am pretty sure they will. Ask to speak to a manager when you go it.

yes. ask up front. if they dont, go to another place.

my cousin used to manage at the grape. he would cut a deal on retail for buying in bulk. he had to in order to compete with other places that sold wine.

I would exercise caution when buying booze online. I know several people that have used their credit cards to purchase booze and then get calls from their CC company about purchasing plane tickets and such.

Normally I would chalk it up to coincidence, but everyone of them bought booze online.

Just saying use descretion

Not sure where you live, but some states seem to have restrictions on shipping wine and spirits. I agree with the "go local" strategy.

wine library is great and they a free shipping special every day ... you need to have your wine shipped to a commercial location if possible because they can't leave it on the doorstep and someone 21 or above has to sign for it
