Adam_Schefter

Well, that didn't last long. Saints waived veteran CB Chris McAlister, who they recently brought in, and signed CB Marcus McCauley.

I doubt this to be true considering the ringing endorsement he gave of the total saints team's attitude and the leadership of Drew Brees.

Simply sounds like a business decision.

I'm thinking with bodies piling up we needed a guy who can contribute on ST and mcallister can't do that at his age.

Wow, if this is true, I'll be takin' some big time heat. I thought CM would be a big contributor to us down the stretch. Man, I fricked up that one big time. Missed that one.

Bobby and Deke were discussing it on WWL.
Bobby seems to think someone else got healthy and will be back: Greer, maybe.

IMO,they did this because Greer and Porter are getting close and they wanted a guy that can play special teams also.

CM would go to the bench when those two come back and he cant play special teams

I figured this was coming. The DBs are starting to get healthy and we're not going to carry 6 CBs with Usama being the emergency sixth cornerback. McCallister was just the odd man out. Mcauley is just coming in for a practice dummy. They will cut him for depth at the LB position.

Greer is expected back this Sunday and I am suprised this cut did not lead to a linebacker signing with Dunbar and Fujita banged up.
