People say that because it has a lot more to do with teams in the SEC west other than Bama. Does anyone really see Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn or LSU (with Les Miles at the helm) being perennially better than Bama? I mean Bama will enter next season as the best team in the nation next year and it won't even be close. The criteria for Les Miles to keep his job is to win the SEC west next year? Well it's not happening. Les Miles getting the boot from LSU is the only way Bama WON'T dominate the SEC west.

He will handle this by himself soon enough! Expectations will be too high for Saban to maintain his status quo. Another loss to ULM and everyone will want to hang him. Enjoy the moment!

How in the hell do you think Saban won us the second championship. I don't give a frick about who recruited a player, its the coach thats on the sideline that had to coach them up into their own system to be able to win the games.

you dont think Saban could have taken what he built and gone AT LEAST 10-2, 10-2, 12-2 with a NC

Well he certainly went 9-3 with what he built the last year, so no, I have no proof that he would have been able to go 10-2 10-2 and 12-2.

Well I used to chuckle at people that said things like "Miles is winning with Saban's talent" but what exactly has Les Miles done with the talent he has coached from the ground up... besides go 8-8 in the SEC.

And look up in the history books the last time that happened!

13-0 with one to play

I'd say Ole Shula must have recruited some pretty damn good players for Saban to take over.

I guess if they win this one, we will have to give the credit to Shula. What a recruiter!

Yes, I did, they sat on Tenn for 59 minutes, and nearly folded by mistake late. The USC, Aub, and LSU games were struggles. Aub and LSU were the two they trailed for 3 qtrs.

Did you see about 20 of LSU's last 24 games? Where LSU lacked sense of urgency, and lacked the willpower to dominate even those they could and should?

Don't look at how close games are by Bama, or LSU, or LSU vs Bama..24-2 and 16-0 vs 17-8 and 8-8.

That is the much wider chasm of these two programs currently, than is the close margins of LSU vs Bama in winning or losing in "Saban Bowls" which equate to moral victories, and spin material.

Agree, just sayin' that RP single-handedly won that UT game, and yes, Flynn was better, which goes to show what can be done with an above-average QB...

Hey Tigerband82,

Who's going to stop him? Who?

Well, let's see. The possibilities are endless. LSU in Tiger Stadium, Tennessee in Knoxville, Auburn, Florida, Arkansas, Ole Miss. That's just for starters. Any of those teams could provide stumbling blocks for God's team.

And, I wouldn't count my chickens before they're hatched regarding God winning a MNC in his third year at Bama. Texas may want to play that game before relinquishing the ol' crystal ball. Even then, if God is victorious ...HE DID IT WITH SHULA'S PLAYERS!

Now, speaking of "luck out" wins you obviously forgot Bama's "luckout wins" against Tennessee and Auburn (a team LSU beat by 21). And, oh by the way, LSU was one horrendous call away from having a chance to beat God's team.

And finally, in case you haven't heard, Mack Brown whose team is in the MNC game this year now has national sports broadcasters referring to time management coaching mistakes as "Pulling a Mack Brown."

How about he coached all of the players every year from the ground up? You can't give Saban ANY credit for anything that happened after he left. He turned around a struggling program, but had ZERO to do with what went on on the field after he left.

My god, you people ascribe such presumptive qualities.
That Bama team i watched against Florida was excellent....so UNLIKE the Bama team i watched all year.
You Sabanites are ridiculous. I havent seen such infatuation since the boy band craze.
this board personifies, PERCEPTION IS REALITY.

Bama isnt gonna dominate the West. Every year is different. Eventually, he is gonna lose ball games like always.

The Bama team that dominated 10 of their 13 games played this year?

It took LSU's two-loss BCS Champ a 14-0 final two-minute run at TTown, to avoid being knocked out of the 2007 BCS race.

Year's 2 and 3 of Saban at Bama, regular season perfection, many close calls(yet much fewer in either year than LSU's 2007 SEC season vs Fla, Aub, Ky, Bama, Ark)

Yes, they are, and why I think LSU vs Tenn yet again, will possibly replace the Bama vs Fla monopoly in possibly 2011.

Are you too stupid to realize they weren't really outcoached if at all in either game the last two years against Bama?

People need to fricking learn a thing about football or STFU!

I guess people forgot how Meyer was dominating the SEC. They sure dropped that shite fast. Why? Do people think he just forgot to Coach and sucks now?

If the Gumps win 12+ games next year with their schedule then I would say yes.

They will probably end up 8-4 or 9-3 so I say no.

Too much for them to overcome next year. They add Florida and Penn State to their schedule and every SEC team except Arkansas has an off week before playing them.

One game does not a season make, and moral victories in rivalry games mean nothing..

Otherwise, Tenn and Auburn and LSU can feel great about the Bama game 2009 efforts. TAM and TT and OU feel good about the Longhorn loss this year. Notre Dame had a 2nd moral victory vs USC in the Weis era. Pitt almost ruined Cincy's dream season. Spurrier almost got over on Fla again. Petrino's troops have some Gainesville and Baton Rouge memories to feel fuzzy about..

we have VERY different definitions of DOMINATION, apparently.

close games are a way of life in the SEC. the adjectives used to describe LSU's close games are quite different than the ones chosen to describe Bama's close games....and THATS from "Tiger Fans".

i guess, some people always want what they cant have.
reminds me so much of a former couple...one party just cant get over the other and only chooses to remember the good stuff.
