go back an look at the players that he is using? I'd bet that maybe 40% of this team are players that he actually recruited. This is not to take anything away from the Coach. IMO, he has improved and he is a much better game day coach than L.M. and head to head as long as he is there; he will be L.M. 9 out of 10 times unless, changes his attitude on the field.

One thing people forget, overlook and throw to the side. Bama is is near Birmingham, AL. The SEC Commish office is there; that is a plus for that program especially with Saban as their coach. he has become a Bal Torah for them at this time. And for most of our LSU dysfunctional crowd on here; A shtuken nisht i hartz.

I wouldn't make that bet.

About 60% and almost 80% of the production comes from Saban players minus McElroy. As far as the SEC implication if you believe that than that's your opinion. I would hope if we had the SEC in our pockets we would have a better scheduling draw but whatever. I'm not sure what you mean with the yiddish phrase stab through the hart...
I reread and think you're speaking of CNS not the SEC. My apologizes

I've heard ad nauseum that Miles won with Saban's players. If that is true then it MUST be true that Saban with his predecessor's players.

Bama will not dominate the SEC for years to come. They didn't even dominate this year. They beat LSU in a very close game and got the benefit of a highly controversial play involving Patrick Peterson's interception. Nothing dominant about it. Nor were they dominant against Auburn or Tennessee. They were very, very lucky they didn't get beat.

LSU, Tennessee and Auburn will be on the Bama schedule again next year and the Tigers will get Bama in Tiger Stadium. Not only that, the Tide will have to play Florida during the regular season.

Bama will be competetive again. But anyone who thinks they will dominate the nation's toughest conference for years to come is too stupid to reply to.

Why didn't he do so at LSU? This is legit. All I see are posts from Ms. Cleo's assistants that Alabama will win the West for the next 34 years because there's no one to stop him.

He didn't do so at LSU. Why is that?

If you honestly have to ask this question, you fail at following sports, and I suggest taking up needlepoint.

He has gotten better, that's why. Miles hasn't.

That's debatable.

Nick Saban is a different coach than when he was at LSU. So I really do not think comparing how he was at LSU to how he is at Bama is fair.

you dont think Saban could have taken what he built and gone AT LEAST 10-2, 10-2, 12-2 with a NC!! if you dont think he could have equaled or better that your insane...

Given what he's done at Bama the last two years and where he had the program when he left, those three years could very well have been what Bama experienced the last two years.

P.S. There's no way in hell he loses even one game in '07. No way.

Saban is one, Shula Recruited QB, injury away from being brought down to Earth. Alabama fans need to enjoy it while you have it because it will not last. Saban will bolt when things start to turn in the next few years. No coach will dominate the SEC, EVER AGAIN! Just about any team in the SEC can beat any team in SEC on any given day. I have had about as much of you Saban lovers that I can stand! It is about time you beat LSU and Florida in the same year. Thank goodness for those 2 blocked kicks. Alabama has gotten better play from the combination of QB, RB, and the DLine this year and that is why they won. Saban is not GOD! Just check his text messages and you would think differently of him. I commend you for winning the SECCG and your victories this year, but until you prove it in consecutive years, quit talking dynasty and domination. LSU is still 3-2 against Alabama the last 5 years..SABAN HAS DOMINATED US!

Les Miles has proven this year that it is, in fact, entirely possible to win a NC and SECC while being utterly incompetent. A dynamo QB(RP), a few fourth-and-1 conversions, and an elite DC is all it takes.

Speaking of DC's, I lost count of how many times I puked watching that Nebraska Defense Saturday night...Wow...

agree with everything except RP...although dynamic he was (esp. vs. Tenn), he didnt contribute as much as flynn...

and God D**n I miss Pellini...

Who's going to stop him? Who? Nobody has in the last two years. Are Les Miles and Gary Crowton going to all of a sudden pull a rabbit out of their hats in 2010? Is Chris Garrett the next Tommy Hodson in waiting? Not gonna do it with the same OC running the same shite with the same QB.

That coach we aren't suppossed to mention last coached an LSU team in the 2004 season. That's ancient history. He's older, more experienced and probably has the intelligence to learn from the mistakes he's made in the past.

Let's see now, he went undefeated in the 2008 regular season in just his second season at the Neanderneck school, then turned around and went undefeated in the regular season again this year, then kicked UF's arse in the SEC Championship game and will probably win the NC in his third year. He did that with a new starting QB and THREE new OL starters in 2009.

Meanwhile LSU goes through the Miles inflicted Mallveto Monster/Gary Crowton inflicted Jarrett Lee debacles in 2008 and follows that up with more massive Crowton offensive dysfunction, (particularly appalling considering the physical talent we have on offense) questionable OL coaching and a few pure "luck out" wins against weak sisters State and R-Kansas. Hey, don't forget about the embarassing end of game Ole Miss brain dead folly, which has national sports broadcasters now referring to time management coaching mistakes as "Pulling a Les Miles."

I do like the Frank Wilson hire and hope that it's followed up by the hiring of a great teaching WR coach, not just a great recruiter that can't teach jack like DJM. Crowton and Stud should be shown the door as soon as the bowl game is over, but have serious doubts if that's going to go down. No reason to think without a new OC/OL coach that we have what it takes on the sidelines to challenge the Gumps for the next few years. New OC/OL coach and a great teaching WR coach, along with Wilson, will make it more probable, (not certain) that we could catch that other school.

And hey, dont's be hatin on Ms.Cleo. She be uh fine outstandin sistah, you know..........

I would say he has done a better job with this Bama team than he did any year while at LSU. So I agree he improved since leaving.

nah, the real question is when Saban does lose games (he will), will all you "Tiger Fans" make excuses for HIM?
will you find the reasons it isnt HIS fault? thats what im curious to see.

Regardless of personnel the last two years..

Bama plays with a sense of urgency, most every game, gets ahead early, and attempts to dominate..

LSU, has not shown a sense of urgency with any consistency, and doesn't attempt to dominate, vacillating up-and-down to the competition..

Teams tend to mirror the Head Coaches!
