I mean, I guess you can do that, but that's probably the most retarded way to look at things...
No your right, cause in the NFL no one ever looks at season totals. It's much more like basketball's 80 game season where per game is the biggest deal.

so now you're comparing those totals that he put up in 11 games, to 2 of the greatest seasons in NFL history,
quote:
I'm saying 3500 yards, 21 TDs, and 18 INTS, especially compared to his great years, is average.

with a 98.3 passer rating
3500 yards was good enough for Top 10 in the NFL that year
The 21 TDs was good enough for Top 7 in the NFL
The 98.3 passer rating was 3rd best in the NFL
So, in 2000, finishing Top 10 in yards, Top 7 in TDs, and Top 3 in QB rating is "average"?

yes, because compared to 2 of the greatest seasons in NFL history, those numbers suck...because the total yards and TDs aren't even close....

wow thank the Gods for that great season of Elvis Gerbac, Steve Beurelin, Jeff Garcia, other guys in the top 10 in passing yards.
Throw in his 18 INTS, 4th highest in the NFL, and the higest % of his career, and I say average
You don't get to pretend like he didn't have problems turning the ball over that cost his team games. It's part of the discussion

Number of seasons these QBs passed for 3,500 yards, 21 TDs, and had a passer rating of at least 98.0
Joe Montana - 2 Times
Bret Farve - Once
Dan Marino - Once
Can't believe those Hall Of Fame QBs couldnt reach those average numbers more than that

Fine for sake of argument make it a "great" season.
Still 5 shitty ones, after that, one good one, then last year another great one.
He is getting in the HOF, but its for 4 great seasons, not a great career.
ETA and if he gets in for 4 great seasons so should Terrel davis. Warner was just as much a product of the system he played in as was T.D.

They were 8-3 with Warner as starter. 1-4 with him out.

And in the 3 games they lost with him, 2, 3, and 4 INTS. The game with 2 INTS was the game he got hurt in and the Chiefs ended up blowing them out, but the Rams were still trailing with him in before he got in the 2nd quarter
Not to mention those INTS also let other teams stick around in games the Rams should have won easily. Remember that Broncos game to start the season in 00? 3 INTs

That why he's brought two different franchises to the Super Bowl? Including one that was being called the "worst playoff team ever" last year?

4 good seasons? Try 6 up till now. 3 with rams, and 3 with cardinals (including this year).
Warner made the run and gun...it certainly goes both ways. The system was good because Warner was running it, and vice versa. You can't fault a QB for putting up great stats in the system. Every QB is part of a system. He just happened to do extremely well in it.

well, shite you can't have great games every time out. the 8-3 record vs 1-4 without him is pretty indicative of his impact on the team. So, he probably lost a couple of those games...but he probably won the majority of those 8 games as well. This is the nature of playing as a QB in the NFL...
Hmm...I wonder why they had those leads...surely not Kurt Warner....after all, they were an awesome 1-4 with him out of the lineup....

Try reading again. I said 4 great, but did say he had a good year 2 years ago for the cardinals.
This year another good year though.

You are saying that the Rams in the early part of the decade, and the Cardinals the last couple years weren't/aren't surrounding Warner with some of the best offensive skill players in the league there respective years, and don't focus on a passing attack?

Your logic has no place here, haven't you noticed?

not having a great game and not throwing 3+ INT's are not even in the same area code. Drew didn't have a great game against the Jets this year, but still managed to not throw an INT

So now we're arguing not having a great game vs having a bad game? Have you really sunk to that now?

Yeah because not accounting for the best skill player on that team(marshall Faulk) as a reason for having those leads is completely logical. I mean Faulk was only the Offensive player of the year in 2000.

So in their wins, 441 yards, 386 yards, 394 yards, 336 yards, 390 yards, 313 yards, and 346 yards passing had nothing to do with winning? yea.....

I wouldn't have to argue stupid things if I wasn't arguing with someone who understood simple concepts and knew how to read
