We could not have a more dedicated coach. One
screw up and everyone wants him fired. I must
say I was upset about the way the Ole Miss game
ended. But I got to thinking about how Les led us through Katrina, folks that was a difficult
time but he handled it really well. He kept the
team focused and won games all through that difficult time. I look at all the games that our team has won over top 10 teams under his leadership. Look at his won loss record. He had to deal with the Perriloux situation and go into a season with guys with very little expierence at Qb and some with no experience at all as a Qb
at the college level. We did not have a great year. This year he still did not have a QB that
had a lot of experience. I think the man held his breath on every play. I think the boo-boo against Ole Miss will right the ship. Can you remember the games he took great chances and we won. We went for it on 4th down against Florida 5 times when Hester was here and we beat Florida and we would have beaten Florida a gain if JaMarcus had not fumbled on the 1 ft from the goal line. The guy is a good coach lets get behind him and give all our support. I really want us to win agains Arky the Seniors deserve it. I thank the Seniors and all the other team members for givng ther best this year.

We should expect less?

No, it was the one that broke the camels back

Yeah, Hester made Miles look like a genius.

Hasn't worked lately, has it?

I would like to see Les succeed as well as anyone, but redemption will not come this year. Miles would need to pull off a conference title next year to impress anyone. The Ole Miss game just exposed something people had known all along, and prayed it would stay hidden.

It all comes down to the Benjamins my friend, and he is not worth the ones that we are paying him.

One thing Universities will learn from the NFL (aka JaMarcus) is that you can not always buy wins. Yeah Miles isn't worth 3 million per season, but what coach is?

You obviously havent watched the last few seasons.

There have been 2 or more times this season when he has waited over 15 seconds to call a time out when time was critical.

not even close to one screw up. It is one of MANY, it has just been the most noticable

Look at whats going on, on the field, you cant always look at numbers, yes, he has a good W-L record, so did Larry Coker, if you watched what was on the field it was a lot of overcoming coaching mistakes and a shite ton of luck and that is starting to catch up to him in these last 2 seasons

This year he still did not have a QB that
had a lot of experience

Because he stuck with Jarret Lee until he completely destoyed that kids confidence, instead of maybe trying JJ a little bit every game, a series or two.

that was not some big gamble, we HAD to go for it all those times or we lose the game, except for the last one, we could have kicked a FG to tie, but everyone knew if we went to OT we probably werent gonna win that game, so again, not THAT big of a gamble

The guy is a good coach

No, he's really not

Yeah, there has been way more than "one" screw up...
No, 4th down conversions have not worked too well since Hester left, heck we can hardly convert a 3rd down....

Where in the hell have you been:

05 versus UT
07 versus KY, Arky
07 versus Auburn no way in hell we should have thrown that pass with time running out all we needed was a field goal
All those 4 down conversions that great players happen to bail him out on....they were calling him crazy then.....now the craziness has turned to lunatic.

...maybe Les will now be motivated to improve his "game management"...

Unless he changes his name to "Nick Saban", these Sabinophiles will never like Les Miles, they will blame him for every defeat, never give him any credit for any victory, and will never rest until he is replaced by someone they can similarly worship. When that new "saint" arrives, they will blame his shortcomings on Miles.

One screw up? do you mean one screw up per quarter on average? One scew up in the last minute of a game that finally came back to bite him in the arse?

If byrd and flynn dont connect against auburn we would have had this conversation in 2007 and would have a new coach already. I understand that they did make that play, but what the ole miss game shows is that he did not use it as a learning experience.

Not just one screw up my friend but more than enough over the past several years. What about his decision to try the two-headed monster last year; should have never promoted those two. Granted he did decide to make a decision at the end of the year but had every opportunity to hire a real defensive coordinator before that. Simply bad decision after bad decision. Absolutely no CEO of any major company is given the chance to make that many screw ups no matter how nice of a person.

where have you been...

last year was the 2 headed DEFENSE COORDINATOR
this year is Crowton

through both years, our players do not PLAY with disciplne
our coaches do not manage the clock

so please do not give me the
"One screw up and everyone wants him fired."
crap

If the miraculous onside kick didn't work against Ole Miss, none of these other issues would be relevant.

Your post illustrates the Sabinophile mindset: Auburn 2007 was blind luck and Miles gets no credit for it.

if they run a half decent play on the SECOND chance 2 point conversion there would have been no need for the onside kick, we could have gone to overtime
