I think after cooling off and trying to be rational that Miles is down to his last chance. In that, I mean that he has used up any capital he had accumulated for the Katrina year ND beat down and the BCS trophy year. I think whether or not he fires Crowton (and I think he should do it and entice Derrick Dooley to come on over), Les has got to be near perfect in game management from hear on out as a multimillionaire coach at LSU. If his luck improves (he wins like he did early on) but he keeps his old habits, he will stay too long because they won't fire him for wins. But, if his bad habits cost us one more meltdown loss or the offense doesn't improve dramatically from hear on out, I think he must go.

Having said all that, I haven't heard anyone comment on the stupidity of the contract these coaches like Miles are given. I think the people that ought to be taken out and shot are those who approve contracts for coaches with huge buyout clauses. That is bullshite. I have no problem with high salaries and big lump monetary incentives for meeting or exceeding expectations (bowl wins, championships, etc.). However, if a highly paid coach fails to perform at the level commensurate with his salary, the University should be able to make a change without these big buyout burdens.
