Video of him on sidelines motioning for the CLOCK PLAY!!
That video shows the Ole Miss player with the ball, which is why Miles was signaling down to the refs. He was not signaling to clock it. Some of yall are really dense. Just because the news said he did does not mean it happened. That video does not show what they claim.

Slanted Hand to the ground... not a finger pointing toward the ground.
Look, if you haven't read the thread, fine, but I'm trying to point yall to the facts so you don't spread shite and get called out by someone in the future for saying something that you actually don't have all the information on.
If you're just looking at the video, you're not seeing everything.

RobbBobb is one of the least intelligent people on this site. You may have a point (it's difficult to tell IMO), but using that idiot as support only weakens your argument.

You could even look at Les' mouth when he was making the hand motion and it appears he is saying "down" as in TT was down before the Ole Miss player got the ball.

Dude he had a want to clock it. Accept it. It's the first step in the healing process.

Here's the issue with JP's claim -
JP states that there is 100% video evidence that Miles was not signaling for a spike.
To make such a claim, one would know what the signal to spike the ball would look like.
If JP doesn't know what the hand signal looks like to spike the ball, then how does he know, with 100% certainty, that Miles was not making that call?

Okay - I'll bite on one more post. I read your thread and it's your interpretation with Miles glasses on. Sorry.
He used one arm four of five times while cusping his hand around an imaginary football in the universally recognized spiking motion. He looks back toward the field when he realizes Jefferson isn't right there, and is making the same motion when he looks toward Jefferson.
Reading into it that "he DEFINITELY ABSOLUTELY 100% WAS NOT CALLING FOR CLOCKING IT" when over half of the people who watch it think otherwise means that you are wrong for saying it is such a certainty.
If he wasn't calling for spiking it, he sure fooled damn near everyone who's seen the video.
But if anything, it's not an absolute certainty based on your interpretation that he wasn't calling for spiking it.
Agree to disagree.

There's no argument. Miles was pointing toward the ground, says "HE WAS DOWN".... and is looking directly at the referee at the 6 yard line. Jefferson was standing at the 50. Obviously, you guys are smart people and you know exactly what he was doing having been given that information and hopefully now watching the video again.
That said, I do agree that the spike motion and what he was doing are easily confused, and I can see why some people would have initially thought he was calling for the spike. Nonetheless, that does not change the fact that he DID NOT call for the spike.
Miles did not call the spike, simple as that. Let's discuss the other bonehead coaching calls in the game, but "Miles calling for the spike" did not happen.
All that said, it does kind of piss me off that Miles was worried about Tolliver being called down when he should have been worried about getting the FG team out there.

By the way - off topic - I think you can change your avatar.

Sorry - that's BS and it has not been debunked. I've watched the video several times and if you try to read that into it, fine, but you surely can read the spike motion into it too. He was cusping his hand like he would be holding a football when he was making his arm movement down; if he was saying someone was down, he'd point his fingers out.
He wanted him to "clock"...... How much is he getting paid to ruin a program again??

It's not obvious one way or the other, so whoever says with 100% fact it was spiked or down is a dumb arse
Why was Miles talking about timeouts with JJ? Did he think we still had one?

In the video, he is walking down the sideline until the Ole Miss player holds up the ball, then starts to say he was down with the arm motion. I think that's the main thing people aren't seeing

It looks to me that he is telling the official that Toliver was down, then Miles tried to get the FG team out but it was to late. He should have had the FG team running out after the play was blown dead. Total FUBAR job by Miles. I wasn't in support of LSU firing him, but if they lose to Arkansas, he should be let go.

ok fine. After we got down to the 30 with 50 seconds and 2 timeouts left, and Miles wanted runs instead of passes, and after wasting 16 seconds before calling timeout to leave the team 9 seconds from midfield, Miles, even though JJ may have thought he called for the spike by the Riverdance-like movement of Miles on the sideline, did not call timeout. You win. Kudos

I think he is motioning for a spike. Tough loss, but hopefully you guys bounce back against the Hogs.

coming from a guy that claims PP is eligible for the NFL draft this year

Looking at his gestures, it's hard to say. But even if he was saying the ball is down, he should have been getting the freaking FG unit out there anyway.
