The issue is not whether these players were household names, the issue is that many LSU fans believe LSU was void of talent when Saban took over at LSU and he built the program from scratch. That premise is false as evidenced by the number of players he inherited who went on to play in the NFL. I don't dispute Saban coached them and improved them, but they had to have God-given ability to eventually play at the highest level. And even with Saban's coaching, LSU still lost a number of games that in hindsight, you can argue that LSU should have won.

Or maybe, Oh your not going to like this but, Maybe Saban made them into great players like he has already done at BAMA, wow

The sad thing is that NEVER was it brought up that Saban won with Dinardo's players, as it was never said that UM won with Zook's players.

Saban and Miles both took over programs with tons of talent. The Saban years gave Miles the measureable advantage of a program on the rise in the public's eyes. That's what Saban did from the ground up. Dinardo's last two years had demoralized much of Tiger Nation and severely reduced the team's national perception. Saban winning the first SEC title in 13 years and then the first MNC in 45 years busted open the doorway to national prominence that the Tigers had been excluded from entering for over a decade. Dinardo could lure the talent, just couldn't manage it properly on the field. In many ways I see Les in the same light. The big difference in every year save '08 is Les does hire better coaching talent than Jerry ever did.
I will add that had the coaches been reversed for this game last Saturday the plethora of horrendous wrong calls and no calls would have doomed a Saban-led Tiger team as well IMHO.

Is that because Miles recruited a bad seed in Ryan Perriloux? Not anyone's fault about senior qb's, thats the worst argument I have heard all day

No one said LSU was void of talent.

But LSU had 7 losing seasons in the last decade.

7 LOSING seasons.

LSU was nowhere near an established program when Saban took over. Yeah he lost to UAB, yeah he lost to Iowa while coaching the Dolphins, but get a grip on reality. Miles took over a team that was 1 year removed from a 13-1 NC season. LSU had LOST 4 games in the last 2 seasons prior to Miles taking over, not 15!

Again, I don't dispute Saban made some of them into great players. However, that being the case, then why did LSU lose 5, 3, 5 and 3 games during four of Saban's five seasons at LSU? Was it due to game time coaching?

First off, you sound like a bama fan using the stupid arse term "recruiting national championship"

Second, LSU had the #1 class once under Saban, 2003, the year of Early Doucet and company. so the term "Countless" isnt exactly accurate... in fact its about as far from accurate as possible, since instead of countless... it was ONE

I ask again
What exactly is miles elite in?
Offense?
Defense?
Clock managemnet?
Personnel decisions?
Pre snap discipline?

well since nobody can answer the question

The answer is none of the above

Everything he has put his hand in has turned to shite.

Offense? He inherited Jemarcus Russell and 3 NFL recievers but decided to repeatedly run up the gut over and over with no success and had to be bailed out by his superior players in the 4th quarter over and over.

Defense? He turned one of the most dominant attacking defenses into a big 12 soft zone bend but dont break makem drive the whole field. While lettin the qb sit back and pick LSU apart. Why is it that every qb has the game of their career against lsu since miles has been here??

Clock management?? pee wee at best

Personnel? Continually plays the seniors and coach favorites over more talented underclassmen.

Continually look unprepared and sloppy during the 1st half and have to overcome penalties and poor coaching in order to pull out 4th quarter miracles

I guess LSU recruits just a bunch of stupid freshmen that cant learn the playbook because you see every other school in the country playin and starting true freshman. But I guess lsu's playbook is just that much more advanced than everybody elses

Funny, wins are the same, NC hardware is the same. So, where is little nicky supposed to be better, sonnyboy?
