It would be hard to receive an "at large". Not winning the SECG, means another loss obviiously.

1) If we lose to Bama and finish 10-2; the loser of the SECCG would be hard to pass up if they only have 1 loss. Bama went last year - but at 12-1 they would be a more attractive option.

2) If we beat Bama and lose the SECCG, it is just as bad. While BCS bowls could take a 1-loss SECCG loser they would shy away from a 2-loss team. Bama (even though we beat them) would be a better option.

Basically, if we lose 1 more game, we would have to have either Bama or Florida with 2 or more losses to have a shot.

It's BCSNC or nothing. No shot at a BCS at large bid. I guess there is a small chance we could win the SEC and not get in the title game.

If LSU manages to get to the SECCG that means they will have run the rest of the conference schedule more than likely. Even with a 2nd loss to UF they could get a BCS bowl if 'Bama were to lose 2 overall. Still all pretty far-fetched at this point. I for one don't expect them to get to the SECCG this year. Looks like a Cotton,Outback,Capitol One type season IMO.

Better than '05 & '06???? I can't agree with that. Yet. But yes, we can lose the SECCG and still go to the Sugar Bowl.

our defense is way better than USC's d this year. They have given up nearly 30 points a game in their last two and they lost to Washington.

what if we beat bama

but lose to ole miss

bama loses to UF

we both have 2 losses, and LSU holds the head to head

additionally it is usually the case that the team left out of the SECCG gets the bid

'03, '05 & '06. Which D had the best stats? My guess is '05. This team just doesn't have the dominant interior line like those other 3 teams. No Wrotten, K. Williams, Dorsey or Lavalais on this team.

Y'all are overlooking Ole Miss and Arky. Arky downright scares me. I know we have the capability to run the table and take the Gators in the SECCG, but we've gotta win the games first.

Ala. has this week as a bi-week it would be hard to defeat them normally, but after a bye.

Only 2 teams from a confrence can go.

Nope. If we get to and lose the SECCG, and Alabama is a one loss team, Alabama will be in the Sugar.

More often than not the loser of the SECCG does not get a BCS bowl bid.

BCS Championship (unlikely) or Sugarbowl (more likely). But both cases require LSU beating Bama.
