It seems we normally get 1 or 2 after a recruiting weekend. What's different this time?

We don't have many spots left like we normally do. Keep in mind we already have 22 commits. Most guys we're going after at this point won't commit till after the season is over or after their officials are over.

I read that more than a few recruits were impressed with the atmosphere (and the actual game was only part of it)

Contrary to what non-program related folks think - recruits come here for the whole experience - game day preparation, fans in the campus, locker room and football facilities just before, during and after the game. The game of course is like the extra cheese topping - not really necessary if the pizza is dazzling by itself.

How the team performs never influences the commits because 98% are not concerned about that.

The Fans....no chance in hell I would come to LSU after reading the Rant this week. No chance.

The fans will ruin the program before any coach, offense, defense or time of day we play.

Yeah. The fans are what fricked up a better part of the 90's.

Agreed. It's the fans who tell Jefferson to take all those sacks. The fans who just about lost to Miss State. The fans who have failed to recruit a decent qb in their tenure at LSU.

Jefferson is young...he will make mistakes. He will look good and bad....but recruiting good qb's....i think he will be great...takes time. Hell havent we been a top 10 recruiting for years?? We also won't win every game 75-0...close games will happen. My point is the fans can very well drive off recruits. Hell it could be worse than being 5-1, top 10 team....look at ole miss and their Heisman canidate QB....or oklahoma and their season...we still have alot to play for and are in great position if we can do some things better. Not that bad of a thing to lose to florida 13-3 and their defense.

Ultra you wiffed badly on this one. It was so far over your head it looked like the Concord cruising over the Atlantic.

I think this is a myth that is repeated too often…the mass commitments after a big recruiting weekend. How many commitments did we get the week after the last Florida home game? And we won that one. Not that a win or loss has as much of an impact on recruits as fans think. We got one commitment the following weekend from Aghayere, who I think we had known for some time was going to commit at some point.
