Call me crazy, but I like the Florida match-up.

Florida's weakness is their inexperienced, unproven wide receiving corps. We have tremendous athletes in our secondary. When those athletes execute, they can be stifling.
Maybe we can play man to man on UF's receivers, thereby allowing us to load the box, stuff the run, and put pressure on a QB who has never started a single college game (much less a college game in a raucous atmosphere like TS). If Brantley is forced to make accurate throws under pressure to well covered receivers, we could stymy the Gators.
Conversely, I realize that Florida's defense is statistically dominant. But honestly, who have they played? They haven't faced a single offense with any true game changers. (As both Auburn and UCLA demonstrated, Tennessee's offense is a constipated farce.) Kentucky? Our offense will have the best set of wide receivers they have seen this season (by far). And arguably the best QB as well.
If we can limit our turnovers and mental errors, I really believe victory is within reach.
JMO.

I think you're right about the receivers. If UF can establish the run game, AND protect Brantley, AND he gets over the jitters quickly, we'll have a good day.
But your comment about the defense not having played anybody misses the point that we returned the entire 2-deep squad from last year.
UF's defense should be the difference in this game.

I have to agree, The Gator Defense is really good. The best we will have seen all year.

I think you are both right.
I see it as an LSU win, or FL blowout
I do not see FL winning in a close game.

i know a lot of people think floridas d is great but the Vols ran it right down their throats and the Vols dont have any type of passing game

Without Percy, the last years game would have not been a blow-out. Without him (Tebow playing or not), I do like the match up.
This LSU team seems to play up or down to competition and that combined with the TS night game magic, we take the W and move on 6-0 in a tight game.

quote:Not sure I understand this logic. If LSU can win, then certainly UF can win a close one. As I see it there are 3 possibilities: 1. LSU wins in a heart stopping thriller. 2. UF wins in a heart stopping thriller. or 3. UF stomps us into a mudhole. The only thing I don't see at all feasible, which most agree with, is a blow out win for LSU.

UT gained 117 yards on the ground against UF.

Besides late game rallies by opposing QB's I would say that LSU DB's have looked good. I believe LSU will continue to develop into a quality team.

yeah but Florida should have shut the run completly down the Vols have no passing game and terrible qb

They had 115 yards of rushing... That's not exactly earth shattering. UF's RB's out rushed UT's.

Deonte Thompson, our #1 WR heading into the season and Brantley's favorite target, will be back and fully healthy for the LSU game after missing UT and UK
Besides him, look for Riley Cooper on 1 or 2 deep balls during the game.

Florida did outrush the vols but u ran it 44 times and the Vols had no passing game at all none Florida should have shut the run down bottom line

I can see why....
I mean, that I see that FL will dominate and we will have no chance, or we will look solid and win...I do not see even the possibility of an LSU blowout.
I think, if they are going to win, they are going to expose us and beat us by 2 or 3 touchdowns, if they are not able to do, we will win.
this may still not make any sense..sorry.
