How can JaMarcus be labeled a bust when this is happening?

The results were predictable, if not favorable, for the Raiders. Russell completed 12 of 33 passes for 128 yards, was sacked twice and lost a fumble.

He could use some help along the way, no doubt. Wide receivers Darrius Heyward-Bey, Louis Murphy and Todd Watkins exacerbated the matter by dropping or mishandling several catchable throws.
"We counted nine dropped balls," Cable said
9 drops out of 33 passes? fricking horrible
He had another 12 yard completion erased after a false start penalty
So 10 of his 34 passing plays were complete frick ups through no fault of his own
JR isn't playing the best, but his receivers are not helping him out at all.
So I guess for those calling JR a bust: no rushing attack + no o-line + receivers that can't catch = JR is a bust
Al Davis needs to die

Because he's the QB and #1 pick
I agree with you, but that's how it is

They have good running backs, just to be fair. Their offense sucks in every other regard though. I really wish he would have gone to a competitive team. If he had been put in a situation like Ben Roth. was, he would be doing much much better.

But there's a reason teams like Pittsburgh (and the Pats, Giants, etc.) are successful over time. They make good decisions on personnel. I don't believe any of those teams would have drafted JR (or at least not drafted him in the first round).

Mike Lombardi has some classic raiders draft room stories and he said not too long ago on one of the espn shows that he was told everyone in the room wanted crabtree then Davis said "the pick is the maryland kid" and walked out

They ALL had him rated higher than big ben coming out. It's easy to say that now, but you can't say that Pitt would not have drafted him. That is just fricking stupid.

What's your excuse for the other two dreadful seasons? What's his completion percentage? Something in the 40s? You going to argue that's because of drops?

he also had a catch ruled out of bounds when the receiver was clearly in bounds. he was hurried on just about every snap yesterday. a lot of those incompletions were from jamarcus throwing the ball away instead of trying to force it to his shitty receivers. anyone who actually watched the game yesterday knows that it wasn't on him at all.

You mean his rookie season where he only played in like 3 games? Or last year where he had a higher passer rating than both matt ryan and joe flacco the last 7 weeks of the season? Why do you people talk about shite you don't understand?

Oh, so the other games last season don't count? I see how that works

SPEEDY, go ask Kenny Pointer what he told JM his last year at LSU. It was true then as it is now.

No, but the last 7 weeks, when he had a 85 qb rating, ended the fricking season of his first year as a starting qb. You figure it out.
You are just the typical douche who wants to throw stones without looking at the big picture, which is really a pet peeve of mine. He has the worst set of starting WR's I have ever seen. Name a group worse than Heward-Bey and Louis Murphey. You can't. There is no QB in the NFL that would be successful in Oakland right now. His 1st two games were terrible. He was not accurate. Yesterday he was very accurate and made good decisions, but you wouldn't know because of the stat sheet. 9 dropped passes? You want to simply dismiss that? How much do you know about football besides 3 yards and a cloud of dust?

JaMarcus sucks on the NFL level. If he didn't go to LSU, you would agree.

So you think he would be that bad for another team? I don't.

I love when arguments are reduced to pot shots at the university I attended - that REALLY proves something!

Good for him. Can he continue his accuracy for two weeks? Three weeks? My money would be on "no".
One game magically erases the first 3?

What a total shite show that "organization" is. I wonder if the league has any authority to intervene.
