The one thing that separates JL from JJ

Legs.
Which is a big part of what won the game yesterday. The ability to spread the defense with the option, the ability to run the counter hand-off, the ability to scramble for big yards.
The defense has to watch for so many things with him on the field, it makes a big difference.

yeh but he had that 18 yard run that was key. plus he took a lot of sacks which lowers his average

and the five appearances in the red zone in the first half with six points dont matter

him being able to scramble as a drop back passer is his biggest plus. they need to quit running the option so much with him. he's not good at it

The difference is INTs. JJ is not really much of a runner. Better than JL yeah, but not much of a runner. Absent the INTs, JL is a FAR SUPERIOR passer. But, that is a bit like saying "except for the warts all over her face, her body is kickin".
If JL didn't have the INT bug last year, JL would still be the starter. HE is the one who opens up more with the offense with his passing ability. But, as LSU coaches have duly noted, INTs are a bigger pain in the arse than JJ's faults.

outside of 1 run (which was a clutch run), JJ sucked running and moving in the pocket yesterday

Playing time! The coaches have determined that JJ give the team a better chance to win and that is all that matters! Deal with it!

This what cracks me up sometimes.
JL is a better passer except when he throws all those interceptions.
......ya think?
Yes JL's mechanics are better.......but thats where it ends.
I have no trust in his down the field throwing whatsoever. Hell his throwing period. He scares the hell out of me when he drops back and passes.
I trust JJ's decision making. His mechanics and and faster reads will come with time. But more importantly his decisions are what really seperates him from JL. I trust him to do the right thing with the ball......JL......NO WAY.

i'm not a JJ hater. i don't know how i've gotten turned into one
i do think we need to put lee in when JJ is struggling. just to see if he can give us a spark

if thats the ONE thing that seperates them, and hes been sacked 13 times. Then his legs arent all that big of a separation, are they?

pros of Lee---bigger threat down field and can make any throw. Teams can't stack the box on us or they will pay. has shown his ability to lead the team in clutch situations.
Cons of Lee--takes away the option/read option part of our running game. Based on last year only he made some obviously poor decisions.
Pros of Jefferson---great poise, can scramble out of trouble and run better than average. good arm. Doesn't make the back breaking mistakes. Showed yesterday he can handle the pressure being down on the road at the end of games.
Cons of Jefferson---not a polished option runner. Seems to lock on one receiver too long. Waits till the guy is open before throwing it instead of reading the receiver's break and throwing it sooner. Holds the ball too long at times and takes too many sacks.
I'm happy with what we have at QB with JJ, Lee, and shep. All of them are young and will all get better. For now with two sophomores and a true freshman we have a ton of ability and they are performaing admirably when the heat is on.

Again, I've asked this to those that point out that JL is the "Superior QB". Why didn't he prove that he was a better QB for LSU during
The Spring
The Summer
Fall Camp
I mean, if he is the superior QB, he would have shown it to the coaches in all of these situations that took place after last seaon ended right? What are your excuses for him not doing enough during the off season to win the job? Or maybe JJ did enough to win the job. Obviously, they get paid to put guys on the field that would give them the best chance to win. So far, they have been right regardless of what you may think. That is why you are on here as arm chair qbs and not coaching this team.
