While most will admit Jordan Jefferson has done an admirable job at the QB, he's still only a true sophomore with limited game experience.

Had Perilloux stayed would LSU be a serious National contender this season?

well, he would probably be in the NFL now after putting up monster numbers last season and leading us to a national championship against USC 34-12....his stats for the season: 345-567 6482 yards 62 TDs 147 rushes for 2489 yards 14 TDs.... not to mention a Heisman. he would now play for the Lions and they would be atop the NFC north with a 3-0 record highlighted by a 74-7 win over the saints in week 1 where he threw for 9 TDs and ran for another... he is already being deemed the MVP of the season and hall of fame talk has begun...

Perilloux was/is an idiot. More attention and or entitlement by being a part of a national power in the middle of a championship would NOT have improved him being and idiot. And if he would have found enough character to get his shite together and play he would never have stayed for a senior season.

We'd still be putting up with his bullshite, still have a mediocre offensive line, and a somewhat dull defense.

Didn't LSU redshirt him his freshman year behind JaMarcus and Flynn? Not saying LSU made a mistake letting RP go, but can't but wonder what might have been if the kid would have come to LSU with Tebow like attitude.

But that's the thing--he never showed leadership skills, IMO. He may be a good ball player but that does not mean he has enough maturity to lead a team to victory.

From what I gathered, the team was not happy with some of his behavior, and the lack of unity would have caused the team to suffer on the field as well.

Just my two cents, and I'm sure others will disagree.

Oregon state beats Penn state 2 weeks before the USC game and goes into the Trojan game cocky... USC lays the wood on them 46-3 and therefore goes undefeated and solidifying there place in the BCSNC

No, b/c the OL and DL still suck. But LSU wouldve won a couple more games last year.

No one would know which games he would be playing in or suspended from.

Jordan Jefferson would not have developed anything to this point - same with Jarret Lee due to sporadic nature of whether Perilloux would be playing or sitting at home watching.

Team would be in turmoil, and so would entire fanbase.

Record would be worse due to this. We're better off without that kind of problem.
