I guess that's what you call this awkward interview.

Either he's on drugs in this video or Silva beat him completely stupid. I think both.

UFC 101 was how long ago and this is what he says? This is fricking weird!!!

He was on something. I've never seen someone TRY to be funny and looked depressed at the same time.

He seems so different from the Griffin that people loved from 5 years ago.

I think he's depressed and questioning himself. He's always been a reluctant star and had that self-deprecating humor. I think his last two losses and the way he lost is leading him to think "shite, I DO suck."

Or maybe I'm way off, I don't know. Anyway, I was at 101 FYI FWIW IMHO.

Anyone seen Strikeforce Friday?

I don't really follow UFC, but this is a very interesting video. I wonder how guys like Griffin and Rampage will hold up in 15-20 years.

Well Rampage is retired, supposedly.

Griffin, Vanderlei Silva are two to watch. They have taken some beatings.

Johns Hospkins University did a study on MMA and Boxing and found that MMA is safer because of a decent amount of matches end by submission.

quote:

• Mixed martial arts (MMA) has changed since
the first MMA matches in the United States
and now has increased safety regulations and
sanctioning.
• MMA competitions have an overall high rate
of injury.
• There have been no MMA deaths in the
United States.
The knockout (KO) rate in MMA appears to
be lower than the KO rate of boxing matches.
• MMA must continue to be supervised by
properly trained medical professionals and
referees to ensure fighter safety in the future.

That and you don't get punched in the head over 200 times in a matter of 30 minutes like in boxing.
