Villanova to win 28-23. They are simply loaded. Beating New Hampshire by 30+, after New Hampshire pounded McNesse 49-13, was eye-opening.

Why do idiots spew crap like that? Having Central, Zachary, Denham, Live Oak and Walker in the same district is how it should be. All of these commuities have a lot in common.

Live Oak v. Scotlandville Drama

Posted by DenLOWalfan on 10/16/09 at 1:45 am
Live Oak was down 14-0 at end of third. Bell ran for 2 TD's in 4th, then Live Oak put together a 95 yard drive in the final 1:54 down 14-13. On final play Bell to Templeton 30 yard TD pass and Live Oak wins 19-14. Live Oak overcame an earlier lost fumble in third qtr on 1 yard line and much adversity to score 3 TD's in 4th qtr to win. Final drive included two 4th down conversions with passes to McGrew and Prescott, great scrambles and great clock management. Let's hope Denham-Walker game tonight is competitive with a great ending too.
Meyers is a good one. He projects as a safety in college. A very good all-around athlete and good kid. Well built and thick. Throwing more this year, but not running nearly as much, probably because of knee. Scelfo is a very good tight end and 2, 4 and 7 are fast and good receivers too though with good yards after catch. I still can't get over their 61-60 win vs. Istrouma with only 1 OT....when I first heard the score, I figured several OT's.
Live Oak has a very good coaching staff and many great kids on the team. In some past years, they ran an offense that encouraged the D to just load the box and LO would produce little offense, overloading tailbacks and not mixing it up. I have seen many of their games since 1998. With this staff, they literally never run two plays in a row out of the same formation and the play calling is excellent. They also have good players on O who understand the offense and their assignments and make plays. You don't see kids lining up wrong or going the wrong way, which is a credit to the coaches and the kids. They have brains on O. On defense, they are also well coached and have some real motors who can make plays. LO has intercepted 9 or 10 balls this year and only thrown 2 or so pics, credits to the O and D. I have not seen players, assistant coaches, parents and fans rally behind the program/team nearly as much as they have this year....I think this is largely because the head coach has set a great tone and is a great coach. He exhibits the appropriate demeanor during games and at all times, deflects attention from himself and genuinely wants the kids to experience winning. All 3 wins this year have been huge in their own way. Huge!! And the 2 televised games, against Key opponents for the program, went very well! The assistant coaches are working hard and doing well. The principal cares and did the absolute right thing in selecting this head coach for the situation the program faced. I have been in the stands and have not heard criticism of coaches as in past years. The crowd for the homecoming game was awesome. The coach made a decision to go for two and it didn't work. Live Oak has been on both sides of that this year - both 21-20 ironically. So many plays go into a game! Had it worked, it would have been a great call....we see this happen every week to teams at all levels. The O put together 5 good drives, unfortunately only scored on three....that's football. The D held an athletic team with a stud back to only 3 scores, got 3 pics and never broke, unfortunately one more break would have only netted Chalmette 2 scores....that's football. Football only has a 10 game season, has a much higher level of emotional and physical committment than other sports, and quickly generates highs and lows. The key is to rise each time you fall. There has been a fall at the end of a great winning streak, but these coaches will have these boys risen and ready for Friday.
Don't worry about what clowns say who don't attend the games and just criticize for reasons those committed can't understand. Coaches, players, parents, refs, etc. will always make mistakes, but what is happening at Live Oak this year is special in this fans eyes....Live Oak football, like its school, has earned respect! Coach and play for the people in the locker room...for yourselves...not for anybody else. Be easy on Southeastern too...a lot of good teachers and coaches at Live Oak went there and were well educated.

Everybody associated with the Denham team has een very respectful of Central's team. Let's hope its a good game.
Stay positive. Live Oak moved the ball well all night up and down the field, but they had a TD called back on a holding penalty on their first drive, then missed a chip shot field goal. Then with a chance to go up 21-14, they fumbled at the end of a first down run deep in Chalmette territory...they moved 30 yards in 2 plays before that. Then they went for two and didn't get it. Chalmette has a very impressive place kicker. LO's TD's were on a real nice 60 yard bomb and then end runs at the end of long drives. They'll be ready next week.
The best line: "He hit you and you fell over."

Catholic and Central may both move up after friday's game, based on strength of schedule. Even the loser Friday will have played a team with 4 wins. STM beat Catholic and Zachary, but STM is 2-2 overall, which doesn't help our district.

Good ones! How about:

"I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious." - Vince Lombardi
How does one "focus" on wrestling? Does he sit in the corner and think really, really hard?

Good one
