Should Chavis move back to the Pressbox?

OK. Maybe I'm guilty of overthinking things like most others here the last couple of days.

Chavis was on the sidelines early in his Tennessee career, but has been up in the Pressbox for a number of years until now.

Is it easier for him to see things and make adjustment up there?
Does Les want him on the field?

I know Pelini was on the field, but each coach has his own comfort zone.

I made the same observation over the weekend. I wonder what his preference is.

He may have been on the field to address any immediate confusion or questions. He probably will make his way back up top pretty soon.

I would say yes, but I think its easier to have your decisions overridden up there too... vs. standing there on the sideline in person. If that makes any sense.

He might as well have been in the press box. He showed little or no emotions standing of the sidelines with his arms crossed. Where was the fire and emotion that these defensive coaches are supposedly using on these players in practice?

I feel if a DC is going to be on the sideline, he should let his presence be known. Show some fire (anything really) - get on guys who aren't doing their jobs. Otherwise, go to the press box - you are of no use on the field.

Concerning Chavis being LSU's problem this year I have heard a lot of this from Vol fans up here calling in to sports radio this morning:

And?......what are they saying. Their defense was not their problem last year. Their offense sucked and their defense was on the field the entire game.

They basically are on cloud 9 because they saw a much more energetic fired up team Saturday than they have seen under Fulmer the last few years. The elephant in the room is the fact that it was Western Ky. but no one even addresses that. Orange Koolaid being gulped full strength up here.

Once Tenn starts falling into a Tampa 2 zone defense against some decent competition, then the calls will say "Did we really make a change?"

you guys really suck and need to get rid of your hardon for muschamp/saban...everyone has their own coaching styles.....I bet tony dungy was useless on the sidelines too

Heard a caller on Sirius Rivals Radio this morning laughing at LSU for the Chavis hire and his performance Saturday night.

Didn't feel too good.
