If you were Miles....

what would you tell your players before they took the field before Washington?
I think I would play a small clip of the beat downs we took last year and when it was over, give it a couple of minutes to let it set in.
After that, I would say:
8-5 boys, 8-5! How did it feel to have those numbers in your head for 243 days? Thats right, for 243 days those numbers have haunted you and there wasnt a thing you could do about it but think 8-5.
Well here is your chance to do something about it. You all have a clean slate and you all worked your arse off this offseason with those numbers 8-5 as your motivation.
So as you take that field today, I want you to remember that the road to redemption starts here! You are taking that field with a perfect record today and guess what, Washington is trying to take that from you! They want to blemish your record! They want to put you 4 games closer to 8-5 so how will you answer that?
So if things get bad out there I just want you to ask yourself which is harder, digging deep and putting everything on the line for a W or going 243 days looking back on that time where you quit?
You all know the answer to that question because thats why your sitting here waiting to rip some poor huskies head off on kickoff! I sure do feel bad for those boys out there because they will be the first of many to feel what 243 days worth of bottled up revenge tastes like. Now lets go show them how we feel about the numbers 8-5!
Ahh I am pumped because its game week :jump2:

Do it for all the people on Tigerdroppings! If you don't hang at least 50 on U-Dub, and hold them to less than a FG, those rantards will shred you online until we beat Vandy, and you don't want that...do you boys! Let's go to work!

I would never remind a team of losses before a game.
That's a mistake Jim Tressel made with OSU before our title game with them. He used the Florida title game beatdown as "motivation" for the team that week.
All that did was remind OSU of a horrible beating. I was on the field watching OSU march into the locker room at halftime vs. LSU. They were dejected, beaten and had that "not this shite again" look on their face. They were DONE.
Psychologically, the team was still traumatized from the year before. You could see it on their faces.
All I would tell LSU before the UW game is... let's go take care of business... remember that you represent Louisiana, your family and each other out there. Now let's go give 'em HELL!!

I would reinact the speech Al Pacino gives in Any Given Sunday. Nothing can top that.
"And that's gonna make the f'n difference between winning and losing!"
Any Given Sunday

Gentlemen, the wine-sipping, cheese-nibbling citizens of Seattle have characterized us as a bunch of dirty, unwashed, redneck, hillbilly, hood rat, lowlife, buck-toothed, ignorant, arse scratching, moonshine swigging, gang banging, knuckle dragging subhumans.
And you know something?
THEY'RE RIGHT! WE ARE THESE PEOPLE'S WORST NIGHTMARE, AND TONIGHT YOU WILL GIVE THEM A 60-MINUTE TASTE OF WHAT THE AFTERLIFE IS LIKE IN THE DEEPEST PITS OF HELL!
Now ... have a great day!
