Yes, never have big time programs from the SEC for example ever fallen off and of course once a program goes downhill for a few years, it can never, ever come back

FSU and Miami started getting challenged at their recruiting pipelines, that's what started their downfall. No one is going to unseat Va Tech as the king of the Virginia Beach area, some teams will go in and get a player here and there (Harvin to Fla as an example) but for the most part, VT will continue to run that area, and continue to be a player on the national scene because of it.

They really dont fit in the acc. They are basically in it b/c the governer of va forced his hand to get them in. Other than uva which they already played every year they have no real rivals since leaving the BE. When it comes to another hated rival they are like a lost little boy in the woods now.
Their fans since leaving the BE have become very arogant like they are better than everyone else to a snobish point. When fact of the matter is their fan base sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of the acc.
