getting too old to play the game?

Will he have good success in Minnesota?

Will he complete the season injury-free?

What do you think their record will be?

Reach the playoffs?

--Comments please.

-I think he is just having trouble accepting the fact that he is getting old, and retirement is a general part of the NFL process.

-I think he may get off to a slow start in Minnesota, but the teams success will pick up as the season progresses.

-He may have a few minor tweakers, but given his good record for no major injuries, I see him completing the season with no injuries.

-I'm predicting the Vikings to win at least 9 to 11 games.

-They will at least make the Wild Card.

Brett Favre is a mans, man. He is just like each and every one of us. He is not flashy, although the media tries to make him look like he is a pre-madona, he has a great southern draw, he's down to earth, for god sakes he wears wranglers...not to mention he is one of the greatest QB's to ever play the game. The kid inside Brett still lives and that is what we can all relate to when we watch him on Sundays.

I'll interested to see how he fares playing in the dome as opposed to Green Bay and New York in the cold. It could help him but then again, playing on the turf could frick him up.

He WANTS to still be flashy. He IS a "pre-madona." He wishes he were still 30. That is why he still tries, at least once per game, to complete a pass through a LB's chest. He still thinks he can make silly throws.

Look, he has to do what Elway did. Which I don't think he is capable. He has to be able to sit back and realize "I am old with a stud running back behind me." He just has to not lose games like he is capable. Be content to play mistake free football or close to it. Throw for 175-200 yards a game and 1-2 td's with a pick every other game, and they are a true Super Bowl contender.

Try to be "Brett Favre" and they go 10-6 or 11-5 and he throws 5 picks in the first round playoff game. And see you next year Brett in a different uni.

Dude, if you're not joking, that could possibly be the gayest shite ever posted ever in the history of the interwebs.

The real story here is the lack of effective QB play at the NFL level. Very few college QB's succeed at this level.

What's more striking to me is if the Vikings are willing to bring in B. Favre as the undisputed starter what does that say about:

Tavaris Jackson
Sage Rosenfels
JD Booty

????

Well on Jackson, they've given up. He can't play at this level as a starter.

Sage Rosenfels - Journeyman who has never accomplished much, and see above.

JD Booty - Too early to tell, but definitely not ready to start.

So, for anyone wanting to blast B. Favre it's not his fault that at 39 he is head and shoulders better than the above.

BTW, I'm still ticked at B. Favre for making Curley Hallman look like a good coach.

Too bad he didn't play against these guys, they would have forced him to retire long ago !

I don't think Brett Favre has it in him to play the whole season without getting soreness and injury. I don't think his age will matter as much compared to the Jets last season. AP is an NFL Top 3 RB. If Brad Childress was a good coach (he is not), he'd continue to feed AP the ball and let Favre game manage. Since Favre's ego is incapable of playing within his capacity, he'll go gunslinger mode and cost Minny at least two games with bad decisions. Brett isn't 30 anymore and he cannot accept it.

As an aside, there is not another athlete still playing that I loathe more then Favre.
