Does this moment seem to be lost on alot of people? I mean, its pretty much the difference in winning and losing the National Championship. Would it be this underrated if it were still a 1 game championship?

I completely agree, because if this hadn't happened we wouldn't have won, save for us having a shutout in game 2, which clearly could not have happened that night.

No, it would rank up there, not equal to though, to the hit by Morris and Cresse...that is the problem with 3 games series, the one game format loses a lot of its luster...

I'm pretty sure its just because it happened a week and a half ago and isn't current anymore.

DJ, deserves more credit for his play during the whole tourn than he gets,,,, reg, super reg, and cws.
People slobber over JM and CJ.... without DJ, we dont win a NC.
Offense and Defense.

I agree, and if I remember correctly, DJ was also one of the few to get more than one hit on Jungmann, and not only that, but to hit him consistently and not strike out half the time

I believe that DJ's hit w/2 outs in the ninth of game one was so big I stated last week I thought he deserved to be MVP and I still do...

its sad that his homer and hit in game 1 are being looked over.

DJ made some absolutely ridiculous plays at 2B, including a couple in the hole or from his knees.

nothing new, he always seems to hit the best pitchers better than others....i would like to see some comparative stats, I bet he and maybe Hanover hit better against the great pitchers of college baseball

Funny thing is there's been 100 "I wanna blow CJ" threads started.
Makes you wonder about people at times.

and PM said next year Hanover would be at 2B, if thats the case, he has some BIG shoes to fill. DJ has almost a foot over him, so it will be tough to not have LeMahieu there, he has helped the team so much this year, offensively and defensively. He is a very well-rounded baseball player.

Hell no it's not lost that guy pretty much brought home the title from his hits in game 1 and 3.

I totally agree...I was surprised when Jared Mitchell was named MVP. For me, at least, DJ's hit to tie the first game is right up there with Warren Morris' and Brad Cresse's.

He couldn't have PLACED that ball any better...except for a gapper, that was the only way both runs would make it home...just a great hit...

DJ's throw out from his knees might have been as big as his hit in Gm. 1. He also grabs a couple of high heaters that appeared to be unreachable by anyone under 6'4" Dont forget his defense

Not to take anything away from Jared, but I also think DJ should have been MVP.
Also, I was thinking about this the other day. Say Arizona State beats Texas on Friday and forces a game Saturday. Ruffin would have likely pitched that game meaning Jungman would have pitched Game 1 against us. We could have easily been down 1-0 and who knows what would have happened after that.
