Finally, someone agrees with me. It was sooooooo dull and boring and unfunny.

Guess it needed a few Transformers or at least a cameo by Joker for it to keep your interest.

Just joking....I'm sure someone was going to say that soon, so I beat em to it.

I do like the movie a lot. Like the acting, the set design, the music, the direction, the narration and the story.

I guess I'm going to get a lot of that.

All they actors were good. It just was not funny or even interesting.

I enjoyed, it but I liked most of Wes Anderson's stuff. Not so much Bottle Rocket though. I like the family dynamic and the father child relationship arc. Not to mention Hackman was excellent in that role.

i don't really like wes anderson films. I mean i don't hate them either. I can watch them, but they are just so dull. I tried watching the darjeeling limited the other night and halfway through i realized that I had picked up a newspaper and started reading it with the movie still playing. His movies just don't seem to keep me interested.

I have to admit I thought it was hilarious as well as the Dajeerling Limited. But most people I say this too think I am way off base.

trt is a really good flick, but Rushmore and Bottle Rocket are both better IMHO.

I like it, but just like Arrested Development (which I also like), fanboys overblow how good it is for people who haven't seen it and it inevitably fails to live up to anyones expectations. I thought it was good, but I know it definitely isn't a style that everyone would enjoy.

FWIW, I do quote Royal Tennenbaums in my sig.

The last scene of the movie is what really makes it for me, it really sums the movie up: the inscroption on the tombstone, "Died Tragically while saving his family from a burning, sinking Batleship."

This movie is one of my favorites.

Yeah, it's one of my favorites. I'm a Gene Hackman fan though...

On a side note... doesn't your avatar come from a scene in the movie? I know it does!

BTW I think Wes Anderson is quirky, either you love him, or you hate him.

That looks like it is from Rushmore not Royal.
