I'm at the point where I need to choose a section of BA to have a career in...

1. Accounting
2. Economics and International Trade & Finance
3. Finance
4. ISDS
5. Management (all types)

My question to you all is....

What is the most satisfying career out of the business admin majors? (salary/ease/family time/benifits)

Accounting. Sucks but you can easily find a job, even now.

Go Finance but trade energy not stocks. I know people who have made lottery type money doing this.

Based on these criteria, I definitely agree with the votes for "Accounting". If you have the time and inclination, go ahead and bang out a graduate degree, as you'll want want 10 years from now I'm pretty sure.

First question is what do you like? My life would have been miserable had I gone into accounting despite so many here recommending it. I would think any of the majors you listed besides Accounting and ISDS would require going to grad school to be worth anything. If you go into either Acct or ISDS the Internal Audit program used to be a great path to an internship and a job after graduation.

I graduated from LSU in ISDS-MIS in 1999 and went to work for E&Y Management Consulting. I did that for a short time and then joined a small software/consulting company in the energy industry (mainly deregulated electricity, or energy trading). I love my job. We build software for large energy companies and I have a very good work/life balance. I would also have to say that we pay very well. There is still a high demand for software people and especially those that have business experience or knowledge in the energy industry.

Our software users include a lot of energy traders for big energy companies and trading can be very lucrative for a few at the top of the game, but you better be ready for a fast-paced, cutthroat world if you want the big bucks. It probably rules out the ease/family time aspect you are looking for.

I did the LSUCIA program. Some really good internships come from that and the program sets you up with all the interviews. I got to do international travel on my internship and was paid $18/hour. Plus there's a pretty big demand for internal audit right now. Not the most exciting work in the world, but good if you want to move up in a company because in internal audit you learn a lot about all the different business processes.
