I don't think Coleman threw any more pitches than he would have on throwing day between starts.

Coleman gets a little game jitters out of the way at the CWS if nothing else and so does OTT. Lineup against Rightie will be interesting. Arkansas sims to be hottest team right now that we will face until the finals. One pitch at a time should be our word right now.

yeah you right. those dudes were patient in the box and swong at strikes. we just has some more runners on for our homeruns, thats what it basically came down too.

That was probably the best way to explain it- When I saw LC, I thought...game over!!

If Coleman wins Monday I throw Ross on Friday. Use the entire bullpen at your disposal to get to the ship series. Then throw renaudo and Coleman and worry about game 3 then.

IMO, this is where you pull that move, not UGA middle of the season.

well last time he did it we were up 8-0 in the 7th, and Coleman threw 2 innings of work instead of one

Your credibility went down when you said "ship series"

If LSU wins Monday, expect to see Ranaudo on Friday. LSU will have a huge advantage on Friday in that whoever they have to play will have played the extra game on Wednesday. Ranaudo would most likely be facing the other team's 3rd-4th pitcher. You get the series over with on Friday if you can. If Ranaudo pitches on Friday, he could still be ready to pitch again by Tuesday or Wednesday.

Dumbass. This wasn't EVEN close to the same situation. It was a great call tonight.

Up 8-0 in early April vs. Georgia =/= the CWS

The burning question I have is this...and we will likely never know the answer...but if we don't score 3 in the 8th and it is a 1 run game to the 9th, does he leave Coleman out there for another inning or bring Ott in? I think he leaves Coleman in, IMHO, FWIW, LMAO, LOLZ, FOIL

nah.. if it's a 1 run game he still brings in Ott

inversely.. I think we may have seen Haydel if we scored any more runs in the 8th

Initially, I thought WTF? Then I figured this is the CWS and we need a way to stop the bleeding. Brilliant move. Shouldn't hamper Louis at all in the rotation. He'll alredy have the butterflies worked out when he does get the nod.

Why would he leave coleman in in the 9th. Ott: 16 saves, SEC Freshman of the Year. He has been clutch all year.

Because he hasn't pitched in Omaha and Coleman has. I'm not disagreeing with you, just giving a reason. Personally (and we were talking about this during the eighth before the HR), even if it was only a one run lead, I wouldn't have had Coleman throw over 20 pitches. He threw 15 in the eigth, so Ott for the ninth. He's earned the confidence of the team.

With a 1 run lead, you have to bring Coleman back out there. He was throwing well and is the best pitcher on the team. You can't take a chance that Ott would be nervous or just have an off night. The game was way too important. That said, it was great that Ott got to pitch the 9th. Also great that Ross got a little work in as well. I don't think the pitching could be set up any better than it is right now for a nice run.

Thank you DJ and Schimpf for the insurance runs. Saved Coleman's arm a little. He would have pitched the 9th.
