How much confidence do you have in this guy if he has to start? Will all the talk of AR and LC being the only two pitchers starting for us in the CWS it doesn't seem like many people have much faith in Ross.

I think he is a great third option for us. He has pitched great in his past few outings. We just have to give him a little more run support.

I, for one, will be very comfortable with Ross on the hill whenever that time comes.

IF LSU stays in Omaha long enough, I'd expect him to get a start at some point. He's been pitching pretty well as of late and I'm confident he could get the job done.

I am very comfortable with him starting...if and when he is needed. He is a great 3rd option, but Coleman and Ranaudo are the studs.

Oh don't get me wrong. A rested Coleman and Ranaudo >>>>>>> Ross any day. Everyone knows that, including Ross himself I'm sure.

I'm very confident you will see Ross in our 3rd game, whether we are 2-0 or 1-1. He will be our next best option at that point. A rested Ross > either Coleman or Ranaudo off not enough rest.

I could argue against this with certain pitchers

Jared Bradford proved that last year in the CWS

Sure you could argue it. That's what makes this board fun. Ross starts in our 3rd game. Mark it down. (Unless he has some injury or something we don't know about).

I'm pretty comfortable seeing Ross on the mound. He has performed damn good as of late.

I agree. I also agree that you will likely be requesting a name change come August.

even though he got the loss in his sec start i thought he pitched very well and outside of a horrible first inning he pitched great vs southern. I wouldn't want him to go up against the best pitchers in the cws but if we are in the winners bracket and the team we are playing is worn down id start him.

Yeah and at the time I couldn't really think of a name so I just used that. I had been reading the Rant for a while but then finally decided to get an account so I could post on here.

this shows you don't know wtf you're talking about.

Ranuado pitches on June 13. If we win the first two games, we won't play again until June 19, which means that he would have 6 days rest between those potential starts.

Are you telling me there is NO WAY that Coach Mainieri would start Ranaudo in that third game?

That was amazing to watch. I do think Ross will be fine though. He pitched well his last 2 he just didn't get the run support to pick up W's.
