Besides al Davis (I think he's easily the worst) where are you ranking tom benson?

Probably some where in the middle

since about 2000 i dont see how anyone can complain about Benson.
-he has spent money on players
-our ticket prices are the cheapest in the league
-he seems to be committed to keeping the Saints here long term now
-has consistently made changes with the coaching staff and front office to try and get the team to win now
what exactly is so bad, besides his "reputation"?

If you think Benson is bad, try the pre-Benson days of John Meacheam (sp?). The Saints were not a very serious franchise until Benson bought it.

Not too many people have forgiven him since the San Antonio talks. Hiring SP and making a run in the playoffs saved the teams longevity in N.O.

Since Finks' death, his front office hires have been suspect -

Agreed

I agree that Benson has been fine for the last 10 years. Done well with what he has had to work with. I would like him to stop flirting with LA but he has done fine....top half of owners in the last 5 years.

I give him a pass for that. not many people were in their right mind after the hurricane.

Worst Owners... You have to start in Detroit what have they won? Seriously? They are worse than the Saints....
Davis is loony but he is not a bad owner, it wasnt that long ago they should have been in superbowl twice. Had it not been for the "tuck" rule.
Benson is a bad owner always looking to make a buck.

Oh, yeah?! Well, where do you rank THIS Benson:

Al Davis a bad owner? The man may be the most outspoken proponent for his team. "Commitment to Excellence"
The superbowl rings say he is one of the best owners.

Trivia question: how many playoffs have the saints been since the Saints started? Who was the owner? TB is a great owner. He spends the money, fires the whole front office if failure, cheapest tickets in the NFL and most important...does not try to coach the team on a daily basis. Worst owner in the NFL is Davis and Jones is very close.

Why does Detroit Lions owner get no love?
Seriously if you were objective which franchise has been worse under current ownership?
Cowboys/Lions/Saints/Raiders

With Benson:
Terrible: SA talks after worst natural disaster in modern US history
Sorta bad: cheap with lower level staff
Good: cheap tickets
Great: top 3rd in cap spending despite cheap tickets and small market shows commitment to winning
Overall: average
