At least The Advocate thinks he did:
quote:
At the moment, he is one of four former LSU players on the Chargers’ roster, including running back Devin Hester, wide receiver Craig “Buster” Davis and wide receiver Demetrius Byrd, whom San Diego selected in the seventh round.

I can't believe that dishrag of a newspaper thinks it's worth 75 cents per day and $1.50 on Sundays.
OK, maybe on Friday when they include the Fun section.

"DD Works for The Advocate?" would have been a much better subject heading.

It isn't, but copies at LSU are free, so I get one there.

I've been noticing more and more errors throughout that newspaper. I can pick out factual and grammatical errors just by skimming their articles. It's shameful.

They always misspell people's names. They are the only game in town so no competition, no sense of urgency. The NBA basketball player from Southern that died 5-10 years back they misspelled his name on the front of the sports section.

The Advocate is terrible. Do they even have editors?

Problem is, between TV and the internet, they aren't the only game in town. Defining the "market" as hard-copy newspapers (or even newspapers that simply reprint their stories on a website) misses the major competition. It's only a matter of time before they go under or somebody folds them into a regional rag.

This may be true; however, substituting "Devin" for "Jacob" is more than just a typo or a misspelling.

The other day they listed the Law School ratings and decided that they had to group LSU with other SEC schools like it was some sort of sport. Combine that with the food reviews of the local chains or sushi joints when the reviewer doesnt like sushi its become actually pretty fun to read.

It ain't perfect, but the Advocate sports page is vastly superior to the one in the Houston Chronicle.
Usually the Advocate sports writers understand that the sports page is read by sports FANS, so the articles tend to be "rah rah"--which as a fan, I like.
The Chronicle's sports writers try to be "serious journalists" which means tearing down the local teams more than cheering them on.
After moving to Houston I missed BR's food and a daily "hands-on" copy of the Aggrevate more than anything else. Reading the paper on-line just ain't the same.

Amen to that,, The sports section has trouble filling 2 pages without adding ads. I was offered the Daily Advertiser free for a 7 day trial and still did not accept... The net has taken over...
