Right before the snap, the MLB (I think I'm remembering that correctly) signals to his teammates and appears to be yelling something. Based on where he's facing, it doesn't look like he was trying to imitate the snap signal, but maybe the crowd noise led to Chester misinterpreting that yelling for Nuss calling for the ball?

$2,332,100

You can find them here.
You're mostly right. They changed the process for choosing pitchers a few years ago. They're now chosen by a combination of a player ballot and the Commissioner's Office. Here is the explanation on the MLB site.

Each manager does still get to choose the starter, though.

Admins, please move to the OT Lounge.
Football: Eric Martin (but Jayden Daniels might replace him)
Baseball: Eddy Furniss (in part because he won me 1000 scratch-off tickets one game)
Basketball: Clarence Ceasar and Seimone Augstus
I'd lost track of him as well. It looks like Detroit shifted him to the bullpen, which has helped his progress, and expectations are he should get called up at some point this year

Alex Lange Discusses His Curveball

At Fangraphs:

quote:

“I mean, I’m still learning a lot of this stuff; I’m not 100% on everything. But that’s kind of how I use it, how I’ve interpreted the data. I’m not chasing spin. I just want to make sure my axis is right, and that I’m getting top-to-bottom, and not too much horizontal movement on it. The more depth I can get, and the more consistently I can keep it top-to-bottom, the more chance I have to be successful.”

We're gonna level with you: We wrote all this before the BCS game, so we're not sure who the winner is. But whichever team won, we can know one thing to be certain: LSU is the best. LET THE VALLEY SHAKE!

Davis was cleared in the UNC mess. He has no show cause.

He had a "knuckle curve" that did not do what he wanted in our game.

Pat Garrity once told me they had a great scouting report on the knuckle curve: that Greene rarely threw it for a strike, so they decided they wouldn't swing at it. The difficulty, of course, was being able to pick up the knuckle curve in time to take it.

Cole: Logan an "Underachiever"

In his draft wrap-up:
quote:

Where things went sideways was in the middle of the draft with Logan, who is an underachiever,
About $140. I was an undergrad at the time, though, so it seemed like more money then.
The one Furniss hit that won me 1000 lottery scratch-off tickets. I can't remember who it was against, but Louisiana Lottery was sponsoring the game.
yeah, it's my favorite part of the quote. to be fair, the author does also compare Towson to Christians going into the Coliseum.
The Guardian on the upcoming game:

quote:

Everybody gets something out of this game. LSU gets an extra home game (eight of its 12 games this season will be played in Baton Rouge) and all that revenues that come with that. Towson gets a giant check and a chance to increase the school's visibility. LSU's players get what amounts to a bye week between tough conference games against Auburn and Florida. Towson's players get a chance to play in front of a gigantic crowd and an opportunity to pull off perhaps the greatest upset in college football history.

After earning second-team freshman All-America honors at LSU, Nola has impressed early on in the Cape, earning a pair of victories while giving up just one run. In his summer debut against Hyannis on June 19, Nola struck out 10 and allowed just two hits over five innings. The rising sophomore followed it up with another solid outing at Y-D, striking out five and showing tremendous composure and confidence while pitching down 1-0 throughout most of his outing. “He’s a really competitive kid,” Steve Englert said. “He pounds the strike zone and really just knows how to pitch.”
many of those shows do not allow logos on clothes for legal reasons. sometimes university logos are allowed because they rarely care, but some shows do not allow even those just to be safe.
