Yeah, well I object to people posting blogs on here as news sources but you don't see me criticizing them for doing that, do you?

Oh, wait....

Nevermind....

Going forward, let's just take it for granted that everyone objects to everything and that we're all always highly offended.

I think there was a big arbitrage going on with Citi common and preferred, having to do with the government rules for converting TARP preferred shares into common. That trade is currently blowing up, and it's squeezing the frick out of citi common stock.

Playing short term movements in the market is great. Congratulations, you timed, literally, the largest percentage move in 80 years. I still think you're an idiot for suggesting that C will be worth anything in 5 years. It is a baseless claim at best.

So if I'm an idiot for believing that Citi will be something in 5 years, what am I regarding GE,BoA,Ford....?

GE- Debatable, but highly unlikely, at least at this point, that they get wiped out.
Ford- I haven't heard anyone bash them, they've done what Chrysler and GM couldn't, reduce their debt. So that's a straw man.
BOA- Same as C. Does the common get wiped? I have no idea, and probably not, but I also don't think it will be worth anything substantial in 5 years either.

I stopped posting the # of shares I buy/sell because someone here criticized me for it, but I don't see the objection to doing it.

I personally think it distracts from the relevance of the debate.... we should be discussing the merit of a position, not laying an X number of shares soundbite in hopes that it provides additional credence.... whether you bought 1, 10,000, shorted 100 or hold no position, it is irrelevant to the validity of your opinion. Otherwise, I could care less and wish the best...

See that's where we completely disagree. If someone is shorting something, then I want to know that so that I can judge the credibility of his post badmouthing the company. Same as for some who says "I bought X Company" but does not tell me how committed he is by revealing how many shares. If he bought 10 shares, then so what? He's doesn't have much skin in the game (unless it's Berkshire Hathaway).

What does that have to do with the quality of their argument?

Is a inherited millionaire buffoon more credible then the Kfizzles of the world (as an example and as a softball to all of those who want an easy shot :P )
