Like to hear your opinions on some moves i think should be made, would like to hear your view

1.Jared Mitchell (CF)- (fast and a weapon when on base, he has th highest OBP on the team at .552 and he has stole 23-26 bases)

2. Tyler Hanover(3b)- ( Gotta love this kids gutsy attitude when he reches the plate always putting somethin in play.He is 4th in hits on the team and this comes in a short year , where he hasn't always been starting.

3. DJ LaMahieu(SS)- Very high OBP of 416, He has the third to highest B.a. with a 364, very capable of bringing in runs.

4.Sean Ochinko(C)- (Very easy selection here, He leads the team in B.A. at 415, leads team in R.B.I. at 32. not too mention his slugging percentage is tops on team also at .681

5.Ryan Schimpf(second)- (He has a high OBP of 416 and he has a lot of walks to help get runners on early. He is 11-15 on sb. Schimph provides a gritty hitter with a little pop and some speed.

6.Blake Dean(LF)- ( We all hope he comes out the slump but he may not this may be a genorous spot for him. A few positives with Dean is high amount of walks at 20 and high OBP .386)

7.Mikie Mahtook(RF)- (Mikie comes into the lineup after hitting two homeruns in on game. He seems to remain steady at a .290 sluggging pct .542 and OBP .393)

8.Austin Nola(DH)- (Battin 400 with only 15 Ab, I believe this guy could be solid for ud like Hanover, I have watched him play. 600 Slugging pct, OBP 438

9.Grant Dozar(1B)- (Batting 280 with 25 at batsSLG% 520 OBP 406
(I strongly considered Buzzy Haydel here.)

Friday night starter= Louis Coleman 1.23 6-1
Saturday Night Starter- Anthony Ranaudo 3.08 2-2
Sunday Night Starter- Austin Ross 2.48 4-2

Long and Middle Relief

Ryan Byrd 1.64 0-0
Paul Bertuccinni 5.62 0-0
Daniel Bradshaw 4.32 1-0
Chris Matulis 2.51 4-0 (really would like to use this kid more , he has some special moves)

Closer

Matty Ott 2.14 2-1

Perfect.

I'd still rather have Gibbs play. He's so much better at catcher than Ochinko is. And Ochinko bats better when he plays 1st base. So swap out Dozar with Gibbs, put him at catcher, and move Ochinko to 1st and your lineup is damn strong.

I like the pitching rotatoin, but i would put Landry in CF for his defense and put Mahtook at DH. Also, keep Gibbs at catcher and Ochinko at 1B

Bad idea. First, Gibbs is a great defensive catcher. Second, Ochinko seems to hit better when he doesn't catch. I wouldn't touch that.

Gibbs can't come out of the lineup because he is having a rough stretch at the plate. He's great defensively and helps to shut down opponent's running game. Sooner or later the bat will heat up. He has shown that he can be one of the top hitters on the team when swinging well, and his defense should keep him on the field even when slumping a bit at the plate.

(Remember the UC-Irvine catcher was a stud on defense, and only hit like .204, but he had a few big hits during that series)

Good lineup, but you need to alternate you LF and RH hitters to make it harder for the opposing coach to make pitching changes.

Try this:

Mitchell
LeMahieu
Dean
Ochinko
Shrimpf
Mahtook
Dozar
Nola
Hanover

Hanover batting 9th like Schripf last year because he is like a leadoff hitter.

6. Mahtook
7. Dean

Switch these two and you have one hell of a lineup

Only problem I have is that you don't have gibbs in there. Have to have him in there for his defense. Even if he hits only .250 all year. Ochinko at 1st, and Dozar to the bench. I'd rotate Nola, Pontiff and McGhee in the DH spot. If it's Pontiff or McGhee, then you put them in the outfield and let dean DH.

+1 That too. Gibbs has got to be the catcher, no question.

1. J. Mitch (LF)
2. R. Shimpf (2B)
3. B. Dean (DH)
4. S. Ochinko (1B)
5. D. Lemahieu (SS)
6. M. Gibbs (C)
7. M. Mahtook (RF)
8. L. Landry (CF)
9. T. Hanover (3B)

this is how i would go but CPM knows his team better than all of us so i agree with whatever he says

I like your lineup, Beaux, but I'd rather see Gibbs at catcher with Ochinko at 1B or DH.

I disagree with this for one main reason: Coleman. When he is the second option, it allows us to make some changes according to our standing after game one because he's so versatile. We can bring him in late on Friday if the game is close and still have him for Sunday. Or we can sit him on Saturday if we win game one because we have a lot of confidence in Ross. Coleman is just so versatile that the thought of not even having him after Friday is a tough choice IMO. Renauda has given us very good starts on Friday and the bats just haven't always been there.

It's over. Coleman is never going to be the closer ever again. It's Ott's job now. So we're not going to use Coleman any other time during the weekend other than his start. Put Coleman, our best pitcher on Friday because of that.

Grewe said today on Buddys show that he has a strong feeling that Coleman will be in relief tonight and start Sunday. And if so, Ross would start on Saturday.
