Again... fun question to ask yourself... we have an offensive guru as a head coach, would you trade Drew Brees right now for the entire Dome Patrol in their prime years?

Yes. I'd trade Drew for Rickey Jackson incarnate.

Well there's trade opportunities whether you want to bring up matt leinart's name or any other combination of possible available qb's, we still have the draft, and i'm not sure what fa qb's worth a damn are available right now.

NEVER.

The Dome Patrol was epic, no doubt, but the lesson learned from those years is that you still won't go anywhere without an offense in the NFL.

I definitely believe that in today's NFL, offensive power overshadows defensive power.

A few teams will disagree with you:
- Tampa Bay Superbowl Champs
- Pitt Superbowl Champs
- Baltimore Superbowl Champs

I'll give you St. Louis

respectively disagree. As long as your offense can score some points, or at least maintain respectable possesions, that is all you need. Smart Offense+Good Defense=going far in playoffs.

offensive minded Sean Payton as the head coach. I can also try to convince you that we've been there and done that with Drew Brees for a couple years...

Didn't the dome patrol play in the era of ole joe montana and the ditka bears?

What playoffs games did they lose back in the day w/ the d patrol?

I hate to admit it, but I find this an intriguing question, 985Girl.

I personally would make the trade, for a strong defense is the key to Championships. I also wouldn't, because we couldn't go anywhere with Roberto Heberto. Not all of that was his fault; we had no running game, but it still goes to show the importance of a QB.

Ultimately, I'll take a strong D most of the time.

And wrong IMHO.

I would make the trade in a heartbeat. With Peyton as Coach you could have someone as pathetic as .......well.......John Fourcade and still make the playoffs. Once in the playoffs, all bets are off.
