Storm will make it there after this year as he transferred to a school he'll get a lot more carries at than Buford.

This and the rivals list are both skeletons at best. Half of the players on those lists will be bumped by the end of the year and they know it. They are just putting it out so people will talk.

This is why ESPN will take both of them over shortly.

Love the written evaluations on the players and the free vids even though i'm a subscriber. Starting to like ESPN better

But ESPN doesn't even attempt to use the Army Bowl week as an evaluation opportunity, they basically ignore it. ESPN also doesn't update evals during the Sr year which is another major flaw. And lastly, they do hardly any scouting in person outside of the games they showcase on their network, instead relying almost exclusively on film. That's another real weakness in their evalutations.

I'd take Sonny over Mike in a heartbeat, if thats what your trying to say. Its not Sonnys fault the Scouts National evaluation sucks arse, but it is getting better.

Why would they? ESPN has thier own High School Bowl it's called the Under Armour All-America Game. Ever heard of it?

What? Yes they do & quite often.

Really? Here is Josh Downs not being evauluated by ESPN according to Books:
quote:

Joshua Downs, DT, Bastrop, La.; LSU

Downs has been an interesting prospect in this recruiting cycle. He impressed us from the get-go on film, but the actual film on him was limited. His explosiveness off the ball caught our eye, and that along with his motor reminded us some of 2008 Under Armour player and current Clemson Tiger Brandon Thompson. Downs spent much of the season in the shadow of his teammate, wide receiver Rueben Randle, who is ranked seventh nationally. A debate also was waged over which side of the ball he should play on; at one point, he was graded highly at guard. More film evaluation warranted a move to defensive tackle and an invite to the Under Armour game. This week, he answered any questions. Downs is projected properly at DT. He also is deserving of plenty of spotlight in his own right. Downs was very explosive all week long, and he consistently caused problems in one-on-one and team drills. He does not have great size. Out of pads, he is very unassuming and looks more like a linebacker or fullback. In between the white lines, though, he is very productive. Downs is a good prospect who not only met our expectations but exceeded them -- LSU has another excellent defensive tackle on its hands.

ESPN has many more scouts that work for them than your boys at Rivals.gump. ESPN has easily over a Million subscribers. Rivals has just under 200,000 subscribers.

This a serious question? ESPN is trying to eval and cover the top players in the nation, not all the top players played in the U/A game, ie Rueben Randle. Any legit recruiting evaluation service would take every opportunity to cover the top guys, esp when it's you have that many gathered in one place. Rivals and Scout cover both.

Hardly as much as they should. Shepard had the same eval from his Jr year through his Sr year, a year in which he made huge strides as a passer. Another EX off the top of my head: Chris Faulk, never evaluated or updated after his commit to LSU in May

Thanks to the U/A game, and ESPN airing a BHS game. Like I said, any other kids that don't fall into one of those categories is hardly looked at.

Why are we not in the mix for Matthews, the center from the Houston area?

You are really delusional if you think ESPN comes close to the coverage Rivals has.

ESPN is just much better at marketing their product.
Soon they will have much more funding than both rivals and scout combined.

you just proved Books' point.

ESPN's whole report on him was based primarily on one game. the UA game.
