Uhm.......................probably, because they'd rather not go to a boring-arse baseball game.

I'd rather watch Jr High basketball than that. Seriously.

But, I'll support them no matter what because I'm for anyone who represents LSU.

Are you talking about "Coach" Mainieri.? These coaches earn their titles and they deserve our respect.

I always see plenty of students at the games. Most aren't sitting in the student section though so it's hard to notice how many there are.

I've never had any problems getting actual seats for the baseball games as a student... the only time i got Standing room only was opening night. I usually get to the park early though.

But I can skip baseball for one night to support the girls basketball team...if all our top coaches are gonna pay for us to freakin go...I kinda felt like I should

There are alot more than you think, there's not really an actual student section so we sit all over.

Thats pretty sad that coaches have to buy tickets for people to go to the game. After all they are in the NCAA tournament. Before someone comes back at me.I am at every home game....

Look I'll admit, I've been to 1 game this year- Tenn. Me and my buds were going to head to Alex Box tonight, but after the email we decided to go to the girls game tonight, baseball tomorrow.

I think it is unfortunate that tickets have to be given away, too, but I appreciate the effort. Fact of the matter is...students are used to getting in for free all year, and many fans at large are used to getting discounted seats for certain games ($1 for Pack the PMAC, for example). They are not used to having to pay $19 a pop for a women's basketball ticket (and don't rip me either...I have been to tons of the games).

LSU is very aggressively trying to get people to buy tickets and come to the game. If LSU is to be awarded a host site for these games in the future (which is obviously a HUGE advantage), people simply MUST show up.

Unfortunately the start time sucks (8:45 on a weeknight) and the game is on TV. I do hope people will take advantage of the tickets, esp. the students.

Well, keep in mind that the price for tickets is set by the NCAA............not LSU. It is an NCAA event not an LSU event so, the NCAA sets all the rules.............including ticket prices.

Rag..probably the same reason they dont show up for football, basketball (both), soccer, etc... They show up for one big game a year (LSU vs Alabama football, LSU vs. Xavier basketball) and thats it.

I respectfully disagree. The NCAA sets a certain minimum and maximum charge and it is up to the school to determine where they want to fall in line. For example, at Rutgers, their tournament book cost $40. LSU's was $30. I think LSU charged the minimum. LSU is more concerned with getting asses in the seats than making money, which is fine.

Student here. It's kind of hard to say students aren't going when there is no student section to judge. I've been to 75% of the home games so suck it long, and suck it hard.

Maybe all the students should wear bright orange shirts that say student so you fricktards will leave us alone for once.
